David Rugendyke, President New England Mountain Bike Club:This should be all you need to know for the third round of the National Mountain Cross Series in Armidale...
The track is in town on council land, so therefore is insured similar to a skate park. That means the track is now available for the public to ride (practice) at anytime!!! In terms of the actual race weekend here is times of events at this stage:
Saturday: - Track is open all day for unofficial practice, however registration will still be available on site from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Food stalls etc. will also be available on site on the saturday!
Saturday Night: - We have booked an outdoor terrace and the night club at the 'Wicklow Hotel.' Festivities will kick off at 8pm, so you can have a meal while watching a movie on the big screen supplied by Black Phoenix Films. After this, 'kicking on' is advised whether your style be the outdoor terrace or the nightclub! With word that MBUK, Dirt and Earthed 2 are coming to cover the event this may be your chance to get your mugshot in a mag or on film!
Sunday: - Registration and official practice opens at 9:00am!
Official Opening of the track (with the local high profiles etc.) 11:00am!
Entry fee is a cool $35 (all dads should definately have this in their pockets) and Day Licenses will be available through New England Mountain Bike Club. For those who dont know there are four categories of racing... Junior, Sport, Elite Men and Women.
For all those huckers out there, there will be a freestyle/jump jam session being held at some stage throughout the afternoon proceedings (most likely to be before the finals). However, in order to enter, you must be registered as racing with an MTBA licence etc.
Racing begins at 12:00 Noon!!
I have attached an entry form and a map showing the location of the track and the location of the 'Wicklow Hotel' where everyone must be seen on the Saturday Night!
Cheers,
Dave.
You can find the entry form here, and a map to the track here. |

 | A “Hard Day at the Office”… Jan 29th. ** NEW INFO ** (10 comments) (link) Thursday, 25-November-2004 11:29 AM - by Grip | |

For the masochists amongst you that like the idea of ‘enduro’ type events… for the pussies that don’t like absolutely insane 24hr rides… for the party animals that want to socialize to the max while still being in a true “race” environment… then this event is for you.
The Fat Tyre Flyers “Hard Day at the Office” is an 8hr enduro for both teams and solo. It’s run at Whitlesea (just outside Melbourne) and set down for Saturday Jan 29th 2005.
Last year was a fantastic event and this year the Fatties have gone out of their way to make it bigger and better with more prizes, more fun and even an official “pit lane” (just like the GP guys… sorta).
Entries are strictly limited so check out this event website here.
and get your team together. Take note though... this is strictly a pre-entry event. No entries will be accepted on the day. |

Glen Jacobs:Hey guys, its Jacobs here, I am in Armidale constructing the largest MTX track ive ever built, its so crazy. The whole town is behind this event, and the site will be a permanent MTX, and a future outdoor adventure park. Will be built and ready to ride by this coming weekend and tuned for its first race with Round 3.
Just got a call from Alex Rankin (Earthed-Sprung) and they are coming to Australia to film, and will be here in Armidale on December 5th for this race, then coming up to Cairns for filming too, nice stuff, for Earthed 2.
here is poster and some photos, more to come
Glen Jacobs Checkout the pics to see what he's talking about! Seriously good news for the sport. Please note Round 3 of the MTX series will be held at this track on the 5th of December. |

From Robbie McNaughton:CLICT 2.0 is out across the country in good newsagents everywhere as of this Thursday in Australia and early next month for all New Zealand Residents out there!!!
If your local newsagent doesn't have it, kindly ask them to contact NDD, that way they will be able to order it for you and get the next issue!
The mag sells for $7.95 and is up on page count and content since Issue 1.0.
It is also available from www.driftbikes.com or you can subscribe via www.freewheel.com.au by clicking on subs.
A huge thanks goes out to everyone for being so supportive of the mag and really getting behind the idea of putting out a magazine that covers our lifestyle!
It is everyone's support from the Advertisers through to the contributors, photographers and indeed the riders that make it so worthwhile to put the mag together. A big thanks to Adam MacLeod and Todd Warnock for believing in the idea and helping bring it all together. Our team in Melbourne are all champions in their own right and it is great to work on CLICT with you all. Now to issue 3.0.... |

Jonno from [R]:Here it is, the first issue of [R]evolution Magazine, launched at the recent trade show as promised. It's available in newsagents around the country and NZ as we speak. This issue is packed with articles and pics all of which are worthy of a second read. Issue one came out on time, which is exactly what issue 2 will do when it hits shelves January 11 (thats only two months away!). Plus, there's a bunch of free stuff in this issue, including a chance to win a set of '05 Rock Shox World Cup Boxxers (which you don't even have to do any of that subscription bullshit to get!) for $7.95 can you really go wrong? |
