I wish I had crap on my desk....
"Did you know that marketing departments generally have the messiest desks in the bike industry? Do you know why?
Nope, it's not the stacks of magazines or loads of sponsorship requests that take up all the space. It's not the piles of market research either. It's the tradeshow samples and products for photo shoots that went out in perfect condition but came back with tiny scuffs and scratches. It's the clothing for our team riders that didn't quite fit and all those creative colour choices and laser etching experiments that didn't pan out the way we thought they would. All stuff that can't be returned to inventory and sold so it inevitably finds its way into my office and becomes...crap on my desk...."

Update: A full fox press release can be found here along with a close up photo.
An inside "source" (no prizes for guessing who) has given farkin a little bit of a round up of how the fox dual crown fork is performing at this stage.
They are currently about 7.5 lbs and don't involve air. I dont know what exactly the insides look like as they're still trying to keep it secret for now. Production forks will be under 7lbs and have one peice lowers. They feel like a super stiff long travel vanilla, very very nice. 8 inch rotor only, but a 6in can be used via adapter. They are adjustable between 6 and 8 inches of travel in half inch adjustments using spacers inside the fork.
In summary; one hell of a nice fork, nobody will be dissapointed, price is not yet known for sure but could be around the dorados price point.

A peak at the fork in action..

Thanks to Rockyash for the heads up.
Mackay in Queensland is hosting the last round of the NQ series in June. They have a dope DH course and apparently this is the last race before it is closed down.
Make the drive over the long weekend for a good weekend of riding. There is camping just next to the track with hot showers etc.

Top class riding and pro atheletes weren't the only attractions at Big Bear it seems. A couple photos are being circulated around the net that show what appear to be dual crown Fox Forx. Yes, the same Forx that were slated to be released years ago. Rumour also has it that Graves rode with them to 5th place earlier today.
Checkout this thread on ridemonkey for more information. |

Spy photo's of a prototype Iron Horse catalogue have been photographed by our high-powered orbital cameras while the subject carrying them moved between buildings on the ground.
The shots reveal the retirement of Iron Horse's SGS 4-Bar FSR design (licensed from Specialised) in favour of a series of DW-Link bikes in everything from 8" and 7" freeride and downhill rigs through to a 3" DW-Link cross country race bike.
Also of interest are the new series of affordable single-pivot downhill rigs that are on offer. With a Dave Weagle tuned rear end, 7" of travel and a design that will offer a super-low centre of gravity these new rigs seriously look to be the business for someone after a cheap, low maintenance downhill racing bike. Single-pivot 5" trail-riding bikes are another new product featured.
Photo's show the catalogue contained only computer generated images, not photo's of the bikes in question. Intelligence suggests working prototypes should be available at Interbike. |

 | Rockwell busted for bulk marijuana cultivation. (6 comments) (link) Friday, 14-May-2004 1:37 PM - by Ryan | |
|
You can read the full article over at The Durango Herald if you want to but the long-and-short of this story is that former DH World Champion and gravity racing legend Myles Rockwell has been busted with a sophisticated hyrdoponic crop of 52 "high quality" marijuana plants in his home in Durango, California.
The crop, with an estimated street value of $290,000 was seized when local authorities executed a search warrant on Rockwell's home. He was arrested and charged on Tuesday and has since been released on $14,500 bail.
