Press Release:
This is a massive downhill and dirt jump mountain bike competition being on Feb 24, 25 and 26. We have some of THE WORLDS BEST RIDERS confirmed to attend. There is a HUGE amount of media covering this event, including cable and free to air tv, radio and news papers, along with tons of bike magazines and mountain bike film makers.

This event is set to be one of the biggest downhill races held in Australia. We have bike videos friday night, dirt jump comp on the saturday night, a HUGE after party sunday night, and helicoptor joy flights. All of this is ontop of the dowhilling and dirt jumping each day. It all adds up to three full days of mountain bike madness, for riders, spectators and media alike.

The course itself is the most varied in Australia, as there is over FIFTY different lines throughout the track, from simple non-challenging b,c and d lines, right up to world cup level technical lines that will challenge even the worlds best. There is five main rock gardens, three boulder sections (similar to Jindabyne) several high speed sections, off camber bits, berms, jumps and steep chutes. Everything you would ever need to satisfy all your downhilling needs.

Jason Rennie sets new MTB jump distance record
(7 comments) (link) Wednesday, 8-February-2006  1:15 PM - by Scott
Jason Rennie (no relation to Nathan) has broken Nathan Rennie's distance jump record. The new mark stands in a 133ft (over Nathan's crash-landing-122ft).

NWMTBA Website:
Local two wheel celebrity Jason Rennie by day builds the trails at Llandegla, but is better known by many as the holder of the world record for distance jumps on motorcycle both indoor and out. Jason having gained a great interest in mountain bikes whilst building the trails wondered how far he could get a mountain bike to fly. The answer was announced on the 2 Feb when on a freezing winter day shrouded in low cloud he took a tow from a motorbike at 81 mph and seconds later left the top of a 12 ft high jump to touch back down again safely 133' 6" later.
