[R]evolution Issue 6 - Out Now
(22 comments) (link) Thursday, 18-May-2006  9:16 PM - by Squidly Didly
The new issue of [R]evolution Mag is out now in bike stores and will be hitting the news stands across Australia and NZ early next week.
There's a few new features started, along with all the usual suspects such as Jacobs Trail, Sharples words, Spy'vs'Spy, bike and gear tests, how to’s and tech Q&A, a tight look at Bryn's proto GT and Joel Panozzo gets the last words.
It's got a huge Ben Cory feature along with a sweet look at this years Sea Otter Classic and a wrap up of all major races and events held across the country in the last 3 months.
Plus there's a heap of giveaways from Fox, Mace and Camelbak.
[R]evolution has also dropped the staples and gone perfect bound.

Peat wins 5th Lisbon Red Bull Down Town
(1 comments) (link) Wednesday, 17-May-2006  11:19 AM - by DOM
Final Results:

Steve Peat 1:41.65 (Santa Cruz Syndicate)
Cedric Gracia: 1:42.41 (Commencal)
Sam Hill: 1:43.24 (Iron Horse, Madcatz)
Gee Atherton: 1:43.72 (Animal Giant)
Greg Minnaar: 1:44.31 (G-Cross Honda)

A word from Peat:
"I won for the fifth time in a row. It was more of a relief to win than being excited about it. It's hard when you've won four times and you have to come back and try to beat all these guys. My run went pretty good. The crowd was crazy! The track was a little bit harder this year than it has been for a while cause it was really tight near the bottom. I rode my Santa Cruz V-10. It rode really good, it just sucked up all the steps and I was drifting on the marble which felt good. I'm stoked to win five times in a row!"

Thanks for Jeremiah Dean for the press release

Clear Mt Closed
(2 comments) (link) Thursday, 11-May-2006  12:50 AM - by Scott
This message from Gillian Duncan for Brisbane riders:
Clear Mt Reserve, near the resort, is being checked for unexploded WWII shells and is closed until the 'all clear'. This area is looked after by the Pine Rivers Shire Council and they have asked riders to take more care with their rubbish as well. Most 'do the right thing' but we need the message to get through to the others.
Sounds like good advice to me, from what I've heard Clear Mt is a good place to ride so don't jepardise the track by being careless.

Sunshine Series XC - Adare 7th May Popstponed

The Riders Club has been advised this morning by both the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and the Rural Fire Service that back burning will begin at Adare Homestead and surrounding properties to help control a fire that is burning in the Lockyer State Forest. This back burning will begin tomorrow (Friday 5th May) at 5pm and includes the majority of the course to be used in the race. As we have no control over this back burning and in the interest of everyones safety the race committee has decided to postpone the event to some time in the future.
