Due to conflictions with the World Championships in NZ, the NSW State MtnX Championships originally scheduled for Sunday 20th August, has now been moved forward to Saturday 29th July. This will be at Black Hill, Newcastle.
As a result, the MtnX Finals at Ebenezer have now been moved back to Sunday 20th August. |

Something interesting I stumbled accross the other day on the media section of the 2006 Rotorua World Champs website:V3 hold the broadcast rights. NO video cameras will be allowed to tape the competitions. NO web casting of the event will be allowed unless the footage is secured through TV3. Check it out here.
This concerns me quite alot, as I had planned to film the event and put it up free for download on Farkin. As far I am I aware I will not be allowed to do this, and other MTB film producers such as Clay Porter, Alex Rankin etc will be in the same boat.
I'm currently in discussions with the media guy, I'll keep you guys posted on my progress. |

Someone remind me what the yanks said about our team, something along the lines of us being there to make up numbers? How many games have they won?
Anyway, we drew 2-2 with Croatia which is enough to take us to the round of 16. Our next next is with Italy (which will be a very hard one).

 | Canberra Defers Bid For 2008 Uci Mountain Bike And Trials World Championships (0 comments) (link) Wednesday, 21-June-2006 4:35 PM - by Scott | |

It's official, Canberra's bid to host the 2008 Worlds has been changed to focus on 2009.The UCI are concerned about their ability to satisfactorily promote the World Championships in an Olympic year and to allow the riders to effectively peak twice in the year. The June dates chosen by UCI effectively precludes Canberra, as it’s in the middle of winter and it’s also the shortest days of the year in terms of daylight hours available to competitors. Check the full release here. |

"The 2006 Scott Australian 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships reached the entry cap at 10:30 on Tuesday 20 June. This year it took 5 days, 2 hours and 30 minutes. If you missed out, you can still create an entry and be placed on the waiting list.
Solo riders can still enter the race, because it is the Australian Solo 24 Hr Champs with Aussie jerseys up for grabs. But, from now on, if you enter as a Solo, you cannot change your entry to a team at a later stage."
It's worth noting the entry cap was 2750 riders!

Not quite MTB related, but we won!
With 8 minutes to spare and being 1-nil down, we scored 3 goals to beat the Japanese side.
After the match the Egyptian referee admitted that he should not have allowed Japans goal. |

Australians Sam Hill and Tracy Hannah dominated today's DH race at Sugar Mountain in North Carolina with both winning their first NORBA race in convincing fashion and both smashing their respective opposition. After a bit of rain last night Sugar Mountain finally had a clear sunny day ready for the DH finals. Although this recall is only current for Shimano USA at the moment, in the interests of not having your front wheel fall out and not having to dig your teeth out of the dirt to take the orthodontist, it is highly reccommended that ANYONE riding a bike with a Shimano front hub or quick-release skewer that was purchased since late 2005 check out this site immediately to see if your hub or skewer is subject to the safety recall.
