Yeti Mt. Saint Anne Vid and 'The incident'
(28 comments) (link) Friday, 29-June-2007  12:47 AM - by Scott
Yeti have posted up their Mt. Saint Anne video complete with Downhill and 4x action. The video also includes the footage of Scott Beaumont cutting the track and taking out both Jared Graves and Ross Milan. The result? Scott Beaumont is rewarded with a run into the final (along with the rider originally in 4th). So what was the UCI's action on this? Nothing of course....

Check it out the video here. For those of you that haven't seen Jared's comments on his website, see them here.

I know this isn't the first time the UCI have done something like this, in fact it seems most international racers have their own story of a UCI messup.

UCI, perhaps its time to wake the fark up.

THIS WEEKEND - Ashgrove Jumps Working Bee - Ashgrove QLD
(1 comments) (link) Thursday, 28-June-2007  3:44 PM - by Ryan
One last time for anyone who's been living under a rock for the last few months, the first formal trail care day for the Ashgrove jumps kicks off this Sunday and if you want input into how the trails are going to progress in the future, you'd best be there, possibly with bells on and if not, at least with your best pair of digging shoes, jeans, a hat and sunscreen.

The D'aguilar Range Cycling Club (DRCC) in association with the Brisbane City Council are forming a formal trail care group to look after the jumps at the end of Monoplane Street / Barnett Road in Ashgrove, more commonly known as "Blue Nurses". Click here for a map

The first trail care day will be held on Sunday, July 1st from 8:30am to 12:30pm. DRCC will be cranking out the BBQ for all diggers and Matt Addison will be providing free beer to everyone in attendance*. If you've expressed interest in helping out in this thread you'd better turn up, because you've given us your details and we'll hunt you down like a dog if you don't!

*Matt may not actually provide everyone with free beer. Or anyone with free beer for that matter.

Bryn Atkinson breaks wrist

Jill Kintner sends word that Bryn broke his wrist during practice at MSA:
Race day practice, front flat in a high speed section, front end washed out and 7 hours later after sitting in the hospital all day with a dislocated wrist he went into surgury to repair the dislocated wrist and a schaphoid broken into two pieces. Should be back for worlds.
This comes at a fairly bad time in the international calendar, but as Jill says he should be back for worlds which is the most important race of the year. Farkin sends its best for a speedy recovery.

Progress on Mt. Stromlo
(49 comments) (link) Tuesday, 19-June-2007  4:11 PM - by demo man
The bridge/overpass on the DH track on Mt. Stromlo in Canberra is now nearing completion. There is still heavy machinery being used to re-align the DH track so that it goes over the bridge, but Glen and his team are back in town finishing the project. A huge props to CORC for managing to pull-together such a huge step forward for Mountain Biking in Australia.

A reminder that the DH tack is still very much CLOSED as there is still work underway and it would a big shame if one of the trail constructors were to be hit by a rider, the trail damaged, or worst of all the future of the complex put into jeopardy because of selfish riders. It will not be long until the entire facility is completely open for use.

Thanks to Darren for the pictures, and to CORC for doing all the work to create such a great facility for mountain biking.
