1. Firstly, most people don't seem to know you, so (without going
into life-story detail), who are you?

Well, I'm Mitchell Delfs from WA, Australia (yew), I like to surf, party and sometimes ride DH bikes
I guess thats a pretty simple answer, if you want more check my myspace.........www.myspace.com/mitchdelfs

2. What are your best results so far?

For me, it would be winning national champs as a junior and then getting 4th at worlds that year, then would have to be beating amiel at qld national round.

3. What are your goals for the 2008 season? Are you doing the full WC
circuit?

My goals for 2008 are to be in the top 20 at all world cups, get noticed as one of the fast guys and just get the expreince needed to beat Sam Hill for the 2009 season and to take the World Champ crown off sambo in Australia, hahaha

4. WC #1, Maribor - are you happy with how you went?

I was happy how qualifying went i think i was top 20 or 21st, I don't worry about that though, ha,
But in the final i went faster but not as smooth so there were a few wild moments, then i was doing this cool line before the rock garden so i got a few cheers, and that made my style points go up in Slovenia (yew), but in the end i got a really good split time, like top 20 , then all gayness happened, the very last left hander got sideways hit a tree, flipped the bars, did a 360 on my back like a breakdance move, more style points there, hahaha, so i ended up getting a 3.04 or somthing, which put me way back to good old ......69th
So no, I wouldn't say I'm too stoked on how I went. Not happy!

5. You had some issues in the lead up to the race, is that right?

Yeah I did, at the practice race on the worlds track in Italy i hurt my shoulder in qualifying, it was pretty bad and put me out until the first practice day for Maribor, so i have been on the painkillers all weekend which isn't great, so it would take me a few runs to warm it up. But for the race it didnt really matter, the crowd was so good you forget about it and just went for it, they love it!

6. What was your first major race in the elite category like? Big
change!

Yeah, huge change! New bike, new team mate, and the prep before the race has changed heaps, like using trainers at the top and having everything organised for you and having your bike worked on ready for the race, its sweet, definitely makes racing so much easier, and i think it helps you get better results, just the 'no worries' style before you race, that little bit less stress you know. But, having to race the top dogs is a lot harder - you have to push so hard just to get noticed at these things, its wild.

7. Was it cool racing people you've been looking up to for years?

Hell yeah its cool, you get to see how they pratice and prepare for races which is pretty cool, its a real eye opener. But then its not nearly as cool when you have to actually race them for the final and you get smoked! hahahaha - They're all so pinned...

8. Are you looking forward to WC2, Vallnord?

Yep, it's going to be a lot better for me I can feel it, hahah, I have a few races before then but I'm looking forward to it, I think i might try and get on the podium for this one, try something different, see how it feels.... hehe

9. And your long-term goal for bikes? Where do you want to go, what do you want to do?

My long term goals would have to be to try and get on one of those factory teams and get some of those sweet race hook ups they get, doesnt matter which one, as long as its good!

Seriously though, my main goal would just have to be to become an all round faster rider, simple as that.

10. Thanks mate, best of luck!

Yeah no worrys mate,
Catchya later
Mitch.
