So you think you're pretty handy with your handycam? Perhaps you, like a lot of other budding filmers are pondering having a crack at your own DVD?

Well today's your lucky day because now is the time to find out if it will suck or not!

Competition brief: Here is the short of it; You have just short of three months to make a video that is between 90 and 120 seconds long. You have to edit it, add your own soundtrack and make it as cool and interesting as possible.

Entries will close on the 5th of October. All videos are then subject to an online vote. The top 5 videos with the most votes will then go into the final round, where each video will be judged by a carefully selected panel of Farkin experts.

Prizes: The prize list not 100%  complete yet, but I can confirm we have from SRAM a set of Argyle forks and a custom (Rock Shox Totem) painted Giro full face helmet, and a heap of 'Compression' DVDs just for starters!

So there you have it, not only do you get to show off your creation, you get a chance to win cool stuff too...

So get filming!

Rules and information:

Video
  • Length: between 90 and 120 seconds (1 1/2 to 2 minutes)
  • Judged on the following:
    • Originality (so people don't reproduce someone else's video with slight variation)
    • Inpspiration to ride (how much does this video make me want to ride)
    • Film quality (no you don't never to go and buy the latest HD camera, just try and hold a steady hand, and keep the exposure under control).
    • Editing (synching to soundtrack etc)
    • Overall coolness
  • Video specifics
    • Format: Quicktime mov if possible, if not XviD avi
    • Dimensions: at least 320pixels wide (by what ever aspect ratio), closer to 500 pixels if possible
    • File size: anywhere up to 40MB. Filmers with videos that make it to the top 5 will have the option of uploading a super high quality version of their video up to 100MB in size. For this reason you may want to keep your videos short to keep the quality up, if you make the top 5 you may even submit a slightly longer video if you wish to.
Notes:

  • Do no post your submissions in on this or any website before the entry cut off date. Someone might steal your ideas!
  • Judges cannot submit videos
  • People who have made and sold a mountain bike film will be classed as a 'Pro' and cannot win any of the major prizes. Pros may enter, simply for bragging rights...
  • Only Australian residents qualify for prizes.
