View Full Version : Melbourne riding..need guide/info (March 11th)
I am in Melbourne right now March 11th until March 18th and am trying to get some riding going but can't really follow the so-called "directions" I've been given. I was hoping that someone was riding after work this week or next week or this weekend (March 13th-14th) around the Melbourne area where I could train it to and meet up and get some local guidance. I am looking for mostly technical and aggresive XC to maybe some light DH but nothing I gotta push up for an hour to get a 2 minute run, I wanna ride as much as possible. From what I can tell Hirsty may be my kinda riding.
In a nut shell, if anyone is riding worthwhile single trail this week, next week or this weekend could they please PM me and give me a phone number so we can hook up. I am keen as to do some riding whilst here.

Lysterfield lake is a good spot for some aggressive xc stuff. Have a look at; http://www.victrails.netfirms.com/mtbtrails/lystlp.htm
theres directions on there and if ya dont like / cant get there theres other places u can check out on the site too.

Me and another tourist are heading to Hursty tommorow hopefully, being Saturday 13th March. It is a little bit of late notice but if you wanna ring Leo tonight (Friday 12th) on 0414260669 and get in touch with him then we'd apreciate any guidance/company. Just let him know you got his number off Farkin, I'll give him a heads up. We hope to head out pretty early (I know, whats early you say?)
All the same, if someone wants a ride out Lysterfield and is willing to lead the way then Hursty could be a Sunday ride easily.
We are pretty flex at the mo and really are just heading for what we know of.
Rode Studley Park boathouse last night, neat stuff, got some good pics of the stone wall onto the footy ground, one spot in the corner has a fair length of slope to land it, I was getting around 6-8 metres flight length. Not bad for a old noob.
Anyway, call Leo ASAP and we can go from there, either way, we are riding on Saturday.
