2007 National Champs - Thredbo - Pictures for Sale.

Hey guys, how's it going?

This is going to take a fair amount of logistical planning, but hopefully it all works out.

I spent last Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday shooting both downhill and 4x at Thredbo Nationals, and so if you were riding on any of those days there's a good chance I have a shot of you.

I'm selling these shots for $10.00 each, or if more than a couple of people are wanting prints i'll organise a price for those (roughly the $20.00 mark for a 5"x7" print). However, for $10.00 you'll recieve an email with:

- A high-res (10MB, 300dpi) photo of yourself, edited, ready for printing at any size.
- A small (300KB, 72dpi) copy of the same photo, edited, bordered, ready to be used as a desktop background or for web-use (emailing, websites, etc).
- My appreciation, and quite possibly the ability to have more photos taken of you into the future as i'll be able to support my trips to and from races...

The better shots were from Saturday's practice, so if you rode that day there's a good chance i'll have one or more photos of you. Shots from the race itself are difficult to find properly as many numbers were covered in mud.

If you're interested in buying a photo, email me at tristan@tristancardew.com rather than replying to this thread, and i'll send you a small, watermarked copy of the photo. I'm more interested in helping out people who actually want to pay for their photos, rather than people who want photos for myspace or msn (remember, they will have a copyright watermark). If you're honest and say you don't want to pay for it, that's perfectly fine, as I won't be sending high-res copies before payment hits my bank account.

I'd also prefer to do most of the dealings via email (tristan@tristancardew.com), rather than trying to respond to replies in this thread. To make the process easier, if you do send me an email, title it something along the lines of 'Thredbo Pics - #235 and #365', rather than just 'p1ctuR3Zz oFf m3!1'. I'll be sure to get back to you as soon as possible, discussing payment methods and your requests, and will go from there. In the email body please include info on what kit you were wearing and on what day/s you rode, or if you rode 4X. This will help the sorting process too.

I know this has been a long thread, but hopefully it all works out:)

Is there any chance of some more teaser's? They are nice photo's and thats why he is selling them. He isn't going to put more teasers up, because we can all then just go, right click, save as.................. we have some pics and saved our selves $10.

Don't come in here and just abuse away. If the mods/admins want me to pay, by all means PM them and get them to request money from me, but i've seen photo's for sale before without charge. I don't really see it as a serious problem?

A second hand bicycle is a bit different to selling an item you've made.

Considering shops have to PAY for advertising Banners on the forum and are then allowed to Post in the SPONSORS forum, I dont really think this should be allowed.

Mate he's doing us riders a favour by standing out in the dust and rain for three days taking photos, I appreciate having the chance to buy a high quality photo of myself racing as I'm sure many other riders will. He's not forcing anyone to buy photos, I can't see why you would have a problem with this.

simple. if a photographer can have the right to spam the forums, then so should bike shops.

Yeah I don't quite get where you're coming from either Jordy; Does everyone who trades and sells bike parts now require to advertise as well? He doesn't even have a website yet, and hes not a company selling photos. He's just a good photographer out there taking pictures of everyone and selling some. It's not exactly a pricey item either. If he were required to pay for advertising, what do you suggest he advertise? Bike shops are large commercial businesses, a totally different story.

Friday- Was wearing Red thor kit, Red TLD Helmet
Saturday- Was wearing Orange Thor kit, Red TLD helmet
Sunday- Was wearing Red Thor pants and Red Jersey then Red thor shorts and Orange jersey for final run.
Riding Giant glory blue white and grey/black STP (4cross)

I think what is really bothering Tupper, is the fact that Cody/bogan is setting a precedent by posting his email here, and even that slight amount of extra effort for Tristian, will eventually pile up as the precedent is followed. By Tristian going to the effort for one person, it will be expected that he will do the same for others and soon enough this thread becomes a mess of peoples emails and Tristian has to click every single one.

And let this be the end of all this gibber gabber. its Tristian's thread and its either his way or the highway, so be considerate and follow his requests.

Back onto topic, Tristian they are absolutly fabulous shots and are deffinetly worthy of being sold. You are giving your customs alot of bang for their buck, thats for sure.
