With over 300 riders in the 2nd round of the Australian MTB series downhill races, there was a minute between riders as they sped off down the 2.3km course, dropping 530m vertically. With the end in sight Asher Zoomers caught the rider in front, Joel Walker, as they both took the last jump together. Zoomers came unstuck as he left the jump, going over the bars with a spectacular landing without his bike. Zoomers’ bike kept up with Walker even without rider for a good 40 metres. Luckily, Zoomers was able to walk away relatively unscathed.
Hmm, I'm pretty sure there was a 30 sec interval inbetween riders. Where did you get that, what I'm assuming is a caption, from?

60 sec interval ? ...going by what I the commentator on the day said .... happy to be corrected if you know for sure.
As for the rest, info has been sourced from a number of people including organisers and one of the riders.

Never trust the commentator on the day (ok - so I was the commentator :)).
Illinbah followed the standard MTBA National Series policy...
finals for elite men, elite women & u19s are at 60 second intervals
the qualifying runs for these events - as well as all other racing - use 30sec intervals.I can't for the life of me remember if the crash happened in qualifying or finals, and the number plates are confusing (one elite number and what I think is a sport number?).

Asher's my mate, he was racing sport. Hit the jump too far to the left, where he hit the jump about 20cm of vertical log was exposed, kicked him a bit as you can see.... and yes, he was ok, just a bit of a sore wrist.
