Broke my wrist at the Thredbo nationals in December, broke the end off a bone and split my TFCC cartlige in half, they're saying it takes 12 months to heel. :(
I occassionally drive shuttle for a few other guys, youre welcome to tag along some time if you like.

12 months?!? Damn! How long are you gonna hold out for 'til you ride again? I know I've always taken the doc's recommendations and cut 25% off the time. But NOBODY ELSE SHOULD! Listen to your doctor!
Joining you guys sounds like a blast! I gotta find out where Corrimal is, first though. Hopefully in a few weeks I'll have some time to check out your haunt.
Bummer about the injury. I know what long recovery times are about. A cliff jump on a snowboard went wrong about 6 years ago and put me in a wheelchair for a good portion of the year.

Well Corrimal and Bulli are just south of Sutherland Shire/Cronulla if you know where they are.
I'm gonna go for my first road ride this arvo i think, i doubt i'll be DHinh or MXing for a few more months though.
Where in Sydney are you ?
Might wanna PM me or something, it's my first day on here and i don't wanna get in trouble for thread rape.
Glad you could join us Gutty :)

Sigh... :( it's even worse than you might think... I had been living in Whistler for 7-8 years before I moved to Sydney. I was in charge of a few snowboard programs out there, and one of my students introduced me to her ski instructor friend... who was a beautiful Australian girl.
Well, after a some hard times together, I knew if I let this girl get away... it would be the biggest mistake I'd ever make. Anyway, she had a promising career with a big lawfirm waiting for her back in Sydney, so someone had to give up their lifestyle - her as a lawyer, or me as a snowboard bum.
And here I am. Joke's on me though... she hated being a lawyer and gave it up after a year. Ah well... it could be worse... I could've have fallen in love with an Iraqi girl. And the surfing here is JUST a bit better than Canada :P .
lol poor bugger :) :P
Ah well, you got the girl i guess :)

Thanks Josh ! looks like a pretty cool site, glad to be here. Hope i have something usefull to add from time to time.
Techno, now we really gotta hook up, my best friend is a semi pro boarder named Brad George, we've got a caravan down at Jindabyne that cost $10 a night to stay in and the park has an MX track and a bit of MTB type terrain to play on in the arvos after boarding. Bring on winter eh ?

Yeah, I gotta agree on that, Josh... this site looks really good. I heard about it over on NSMB.com. NSMB.com is a obviously a great site, but the BB and product reviews there really turns me off sometimes. There's some great members over there, but for every good member, there seems to be three assholes. Just too much attitude, too much negativity, too much "you're not like me, so you suck" kinda vibe. Sometimes there's some great info that floats around about gear, and riding, but it's always lost in a wash of BS.
Well, this thread isn't about slagging other sites. NSMB is a good site. I could gripe on and on about all that's wrong with it but I'll spare everyone.
FARKIN.net, even though it's a lot smaller (right now, anyway), could be huge in a few months... And there's no bad vibes here! And to have content that's relevant to where you live... that's awesome.
Great site. Great crowd. Keep it up!

Fully. :D The shoestring setup was always my favorite... cheap eats, cheap accomodation, save it all for gear and beer (and lift tickets). I don't think the wife will want a bar of it though...
And I'm dying to ride some of the MTB terrain around the Jindabyne area... though I'll leave the MX stuff to you, Gutty. I'm not too good with sports that involve motors.... :P
Gutty And Techno:
Thanks very much for the positive feedback! All the guys here that work really hard on farkin.net undoubtedly appreciate it!
We all hope we can deliver you guys the best site there is :D
Thanks for the support, and enjoy your long stay with us ;)
