I'm happy to pay so long as I have a dedicated path.

Otherwise, how does "go get fucked Farmer" sound?

"Mr Farmer should get himself a long-distance Malvern Star racer and enjoy the free bike ride between his new home in Mosman and his electorate in Campbelltown," he said.

I laughed.

Preliminary results from a study undertaken on behalf of the Department of Health and Ageing found cyclists saved more than $82 million in public health costs, almost $64 million in traffic congestion-related costs and $9 million in greenhouse gas-related costs.

Im sorry what am i supposed to be paying for? In fact according to those figures i should be getting a rebate on my car registration and a discount on my health insurance.

I reckon there is a lot to be said for doing it, even if just to shut ignorant drivers up, and also give the politicians an idea of the demographic they are dealing with.

Out at around 5:30 am Thursday, some passenger still felt it necessary to scream "Register bikes" as we passed along a relatively empty city approach. If registering bikes will shut the cyclist haters up, I'm all for it ....

But the Cycling Promotion Fund, a bicycle industry lobby group, said a levy would discourage bicycle use.

"There is no country around the world which has registration for bicycles, and the revenue raised would be quite low," said the organisation's program director, Rosemarie Speidel.

bzzzzzzzzzzzzz wrong!...Rosemarie needs to visit Japan.
