well old school for me anyway, i creamed my self every day over the Trek Y frames when i was in school and i finally got one from a mate, $600 complete, what a bargin. It is for my sister but i'd say i will clock up some miles on it. Has an old school Sram carbon mech to match, and now some X.7 shifters to match.

and this isnt so old school, but it a pretty sweet ride also,

it's just had a birthday and got some new lights (cateye 15w and 10w) forks (Manitou Black Super Air) and bars (Answer Protaper Carbon) This is the bike i ride the most, it's my borthers but i ride it more than him and got it it's presents. I was also wondering what you guy's would think about which is lighter?? I havent weighed them yet but i'm pretty sure on which one is lighter.

hope you guy's like them, i thought these would get appreciated more in this forum.

full LX, with an XT rear mech, shimano wheels, manitou super airs, answer carbon fiber bars, umm i think thats about it. It's pretty much stock except for the forks and bars. I have a Hot S for the front, but i like it's look atm. I love the Hot s on the back....sooo much grip for climbing loose stuff.

The Trek is a Carbon fiber Y frame, definately not a Gary fisher. The Trek is a 7 year old bike and still sweet. I'm pretty sure the Trek is going to come up lighter than the Avanti.

Fishers and Treks of the time shared the same suspension design, the Fishers were welded aluminium, Treks were carbon.

I'd be putting some boots on those Judy's straight away- those thing self destruct if they don't have boots (or at least mine did ).

just trail riding. I had 98 Judy XLs and they died within 3 months of buying them. To cut a long story short they were eventually replaced by some Psylos XC's, which were a marked improvement. The post hydracoil Judys are actually a good fork, if you can find a 99 or newer one they are cheap and actually work well.

m friend hucked 14 to flat wiht judys i rate them
Wow  You could now say your friend is 'Hard-Core'.

Those bikes look sick. Im currently looking for something uber oldskool to cruise on for fun. MTB history is just important as any history! :P

What sort of avanti is that? Is it a hammer??
If so is it the steel or Al version? What year? I'm liking that wheel set but would be hesitant to use them with my riding style..........

The Avanti Looks like a 2002 or 2003 Aggressor, it's Aluminium... And I wanted one, But they was well out of stock before I could get one :( They look trick, but upgrading to discs would be a pain, as one would need a new wheelset aswell... Shimano BASTADS!

it's an aggressor, and Aluminium......the wheels have actually surprised me, they havent needed truing yet, but some disc hubs would have been nice. I always worry about getting a stick caught in the wheel but it hasent happened yet.
