I am going to buy a Flite 100 for track racing. The 2 sizing options available for me are 53cm (which is on back order toApril1) or 50cm which is available now.

My current bike is a 53 and it is comfortable but slightly too large. I am approx 168cm tall but have shorter rather than longer legs.

Do you think it would be better to have the 50cm or the 53cm? These are centre to centre TT sizes, standard (not compact) geo.

The bike is being ordered in so I cant really test ride either.

Thanks.

Id say 53 based on the fact that 50 is freakin small:eek:

I would go a little smaller, and maybe run a horizontal stem? Where are you going to race track?

I'd go smaller. 50cm sounds right

Thanks, Iwas thinking the same thing (re 50cm) but the 53 was distracting because I am so used to it.

I'de say a 50cm. Just because it's best to ride the smallest bike you can possibly fit. It sounds like if it doesn't fit you, you can just raise the seat, and lengthen the stem. Or alternatively you could return it and get the larger size. Tho if you're 53cm is a little large, I'de go a 50cm.

I would prefer a larger frame and shorter stem then other way around. Track bikes are twitchy enough without a 130mm stem......

Are you going to ride at Tempe??

I hope to ride a bit at tempe, but I have new work hours starting in may or june so this may or may not happen. However the new hours also means that I will ave every friday night off for when the winter series starts at dunc grey so I am aiming to do that this year.

Might be enough of us this year to have a Farkin Wheelrace

When does the winter series start? I should be fit enough to give it a read hot crack, been working hard on sprinting / standing starts and lead outs.

my brother just got the 50cm. im a little taller than you and i wouldn't go any bigger cause it fits me fine. im pretty sure the top tube is quite a bit longer than the seat tube. good choice though, for the price its an insane bike.
