Nice work flynny and co!
Few questions about the race and series:
Will there be a licensed bar at stromlo like some of the previous races?
Will the Practise be split? If so, what do A and B (hopefully not C) groups consist of?
Will the series points structure be the same as last year being now run by BOE?
Got good sponsors for prizes etc? (not that that will matter to me;))
Do we need to book a spot for our quickshade tent, or is it carpark: first in best dressed?Im sure ill think of some more, hopefully others will too.
cheers

Most of those questions are probably better addressed to CORC or BOE
as I haven't had anything to do with coordinating the individual rounds
I know we are trying to avoid split practice where ever possible
# Will the series points structure be the same as last year being now run by BOE?
# Got good sponsors for prizes etc?
We are hoping Stu can pull together some great sponsorship deals to prop up the series but as far as I know we are leaning more towards medals/trophies rather than product prizes.
I can't see why the point structure would change. The only thing I can think of is there was talk about no points for the sport category.
But, again I'm not to sure on those details. Marcus might know more.

Why is it $90? What happen to $80 I know it is only $10 but in todays terms $10 is some milk and bread for me and my family I for one can not afford to go to Canberra I will be only attending 2 races (Coffs and Awaba) of this series maybe 3 if I rob a bank.
Will there be a licensed bar at stromlo like some of the previous races?
We'll have word on this one shortly.
Will the Practise be split? If so, what do A and B (hopefully not C) groups consist of?Wherever possible, we won't be splitting practice. If we have to, we'll announce it well in advance as to what the groups are. 3 groups seems to be about as evil as the devil himself, so Group C is about as unlikely as... well, it's unlikely!.
Will the series points structure be the same as last year being now run by BOE?I'll get word from Marcus on this, but whatever it is...it'll come straight from Marcus / NSWMTB, there's no need for us to change that.
Got good sponsors for prizes etc? (not that that will matter to me;))Cash for the elites, trophies for everyone was the baseline for this year (a decision helped partly by a thread on here), with maybe some additional prizes along the way. Currently 'in talks' with sponsors....
Do we need to book a spot for our quickshade tent, or is it carpark: first in best dressed? At Round 1 it's first-in best-dressed, as we all know there's so much space at Stromlo it's just ridiculous. Well let you know in regards to later rounds... and thanks for the questions - happy to answer as many as people have either here or at info@brightorangeevents.com

Sounds good Stu, especially the comments on group C. Hopefully this series yeilds what we all hope it will, consistent and professional organisation across all the events.

Well that sets the standard for the entire series.

Wayne,
The simple reply is that it's $90 because that's the pricing that our costings led us to. I hope that doesn't sound 'short' or 'curt', it's simply honest.
To say anything more (and I'm happy to)... well as this is a joint venture between BOE & NSWMTB, this is the sort of question that I need to put my detailed reply past NSWMTB before posting it to forums etc. I'll do this, and post (and email) a more detailed reply tonight / tomorrow.
Stu / BOE.

That's definitely the goal....

Hey, if you wanna licence Awaba I'm not going to stop you :)

So practice is likely to be an open session with all classes at the same time, not like the nationals with elites and u19 together and sporties and others in a seperate group?

Thats the plan.
Just wondering about the thursday and friday before the race..
Is the track open to private shuttles? and will the gate be open on these days?
Hopefully that question hasnt already been answered somewhere..

Sporties are people too. Can we please have a points. Prob wont make a huge diffrence as not many people will do all rounds but its still nice to see how you are going.

Do you want a poll for that:D
On a serious note, sport was meant to cater for first time and non serious riders out for fun. Obtaining series points and prizes seems to go against that.
Poll anyone

Just looking on BOE web site and it says the course length is 14k:confused: I thought stromlo was 2200m from what the sign has up the top

Errr.. talk about a typo. Fixed.
Then again, if we started at the top, and finished at Parliament House, then yeah, maybe 14 :)

Track is open on all non-event days to the public.
The ANU boom-gate which does impact shuffles is open from approx 7am to 6pm, it is closed and locked outside of these times.

Since the gates across the 'big' lines on the course are usually locked, will they still be locked on the thursday and friday, or open for private practise in the leadup to the event?
Spose theyd be shut because no St johns organised for those days?

Poll anyone
u know its going to happen. click that special button cat.
in my opinion, as you said, sport is a categorey for those just starting and begining. if we dont have a point score for sport that will deterr ALOT of sandbaggers from the series aswel!

No the track hasnt changed at all since nats...it has a couple of little ruts but i guess there a change?
Im just having a guess here but i would say the gates on the A-lines will still be closed due to the fact that it isnt purly CORC running this race...orange events has alot to do with it.

The gates aren't open today (they will be on the weekend) - which is just standard policy, they're only open during official practice times or racing. This policy applies whether it's a CORC event or we're helping or whoever...
