I've been riding these trails for the last couple of years, but I don't know which is which.
Trail 1: The first of the trails to leave the eugenia track on the right. It used to start with a rock drop into a corner (3' ish), but now the entrance is a bit earlier. Pretty much single track (rocky) cutting across some rock faces. The end of the rocky track is a steepish rock chute into a corner with a big boulder on the right. Then it's smooth single track over some logs and things into the lantanna and finally to the park.
I walked this track this morning before work. It hasn't had much use, but is in excellent condition. There was no sign of bike tracks on any part of the track. So it looks like it's hasn't been used in a while.
Trail 2: The next trail to exit the eugenia track about 200 m or more past trail 1. The entrance is pretty rocky. It used to only go around a rocky bend and down a 2-3' drop into a rocky righthand corner. There is now another option to the right, which misses the drop, but has a small rock to jump if you don't like wiggling around bends. Then there is a well defined single track over some small logs leading down to a steep rocky section. The corners are reasonably bermed for some cornering action, then it gets a bit tricky. There are about four or five trail options... left for some rocks and drops, right and more berms but finally you have to get down a steep rocky section. There is one easy exit under some trees, otherwise, it's down the rockface keeping close to a log on your right. I suppose there's also the rock jump/drop right off the side just before the top of the log, but I've never seen anyone take this line. Then it's down some nice rocky-lantanna track, over the fallen tree drop 3' ish, nice twisty steep single-track into the park.
Both trails are extremely technical, but trail 2 at least has a soft option to the bottom. Trail 2 also seems to be getting most of the riding action these days.
The question is which trail is Hot'n'Spicey and which is Original? And what is the section called 50/50?
Also has anyone taken the rock jump/drop (5'-6') on the top of the rock face before the log on trail 2? The jump itself seems ok, but the approach down the rock face and landing amongst the trees make me see ambulance lights.
