I just got my first roadie. I bought it second hand but sorta knew about the brands and their heritage so I went with it. I feel like I am going to break it though... not used to having something so light underneath me.

yeah fair bit of flex... I dont think they make a black system six so six13 it was ! Not really happy with it though. It just creaks like a bi-yutch. Suppose thats my fault for buying a cannondale !

I haven't owned a geared bike for a few years now. But after a little knee trouble I decided to get a roadie. Haven't given up on the fixies and the singlespeed bikes yet though.
Anyway, long story short, I have just finished getting this into working order:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3202/3007461140_42fc2026ab.jpg?v=0
It is a shop frame, Durban Cycles from Sutherland, I don't really know much more than that. Reynolds 501 tubes, and some English lugs apparently. Not super nice, but reasonable quality.
It was in pretty poor condition when I bought it, but under a few mm of road grime was a complete Shimano 600 groupset, right down to the stem. I understand this came out in 1983, but I have a feeling the bike could be a couple of years newer than this.
Looking forward to some long rides.
 Awesome, I gotta finish my retro roadie so we can go cruising together in our woollen jerseys and leather helmets.

These are my two road hoe's:
* Specialized Langster SS/Fixie (i cant decide to be fixed or free?)
The model is special edition "London Underground". I use this for hill training (hence the f/r brakes which are uncool i know but i need to get down the other side and stop eventually) and general commuting to work although it screams 'steal me please!'. Great ride.
* Giant TCR C1
This is my dedicated roadie. Light, fast and climbs like a mountain goat.
Runs full ultegra, 100% carbon with plush mavic K's.
Yes its a generic Giant bike, however its performance is second to none.

STOCK AS A ROCK!
09 giant TCR Advanced 2 50cm
Sweet. I had been waiting on one of those (albeit in the SL Team version) but it wasn't going to come til after February, and I want to start racing in January. Those frames are the stiffest and lightest thing going for the money- better than most more expensive bikes.

Just got this new roadie, will put pics up tonight. Thought it was time to upgrade from my previous specialized.
It's an 09 EMC2 etape Team, stock except for new PRO headset and Stem, and my race wheels (Bontrager X-lite Carbon Aero). Plan to upgrade a few things soonish when i can be bothered, bars, groupset (ultegra SL is good but not good enough haha), trying to decide what is the best alternative out there, what are peoples opinions on Sram Red and Campy Chorus, as compared to Dura-ace?
So far the bike rides great, feels very tight through corners at speed too.

nice bike djphill, do you use Omara in Cheltenham much? i just started going there, i was really really impressed with their service.
heres my dad's early 90's Giant Cadex Pro.
Frame: naked carbon Fibre Tubing with snazzy chrome lugs and chrome aluminium fork,
Cockpit: chrome specialized bars and seatpost with a black specialized stem
Drivetrain: shimano 105 everything with Bio-Pace chainrings, look pedals and wobbler rims on 105 hubs.

for it's age it's in pretty mint condition, just had the BB replaced and the wheels trued but with new cables, chain, tyres and bar tape she'd be fit for a museum. the geometry is very contemporary and luckily fits me quite well. i've never seen another one in real life just later models that had paint schemes and gross graphics.
i'll try and get a real picture of it soon, i sold my camera.
i was setting up to go for a ride just before but put a hole in the tube near the valve hand pumping. very annoyed because it's such a nice day and i was already warmed up.
