Hi guys,
I've been a member of Farkin for a while now, as you can see from my profile. Recently I was temporarily banned, because I posted an MP3 on the site, in response to a thread about 'songs for a DH movie'.

In the rules of farkin, it does not specifically say anything about mp3s, although I got banned for it. It may seem obvious, but threads about music are just tempting you to say, "xxxx by xxxx is a good song, here, I've attached it for you".
Seriously guys, don't do it.

Well yes the lanuage was unexceptable I will admit...

The reason I siged it was to show how stupid the guy was to post that sort of stuff...

The reason you got banned is because you uploaded music that people could download music illegally from farkin. Hopefully you learnt your lesson.

Because Farkin isn't a file sharing site designed to allow people to steal music and breach copyright laws...

P2P sharing is illegal, unless permitted by the owners of the material, i.e. if you have permission from the artist of a song to share their song for free (very unlikely).

Maybe we could suggest a refinement of the farkin site rules?

but it is kind of obvious. music downloading is illegal and sharing it doesn't change anything.

Hey, I can always stick "including copyrighted MP3s" on the end of that sentence, since people obviously have trouble with it.
