Terrain at Myall lakes?

Hey I'm doing an adventure race with a fairly large cross country leg on 15th/16th May, arrow 24, think its up near myall lakes. Does anyone know what the terrain is like up there? Open fire roads, single track, rocky, sandy etc?

I haven't really done any riding around there (bit of 4wding though) but I think if you get too far off major roads it's likely to be pretty sandy. Sandy to the point that I reeaaally don't envy you having to race in it.
