Just wondering what the tallest Dh stem you know of? My Raceface diablous is about 40mm tall and I am just wondering how much extra steerer I should leave incase i need to upgrade my stem eventually.

I think most stems a 40mm or less, chuck 10-15mm of spacers on to be safe.

Never, EVER run a steerer with no spacers... one at the minimum, two preferable... otherwise you have no room to move if it comes to it.

Yeah, I already got one below my top crown which is about 10mm. and I am pb going to get a small one for between my stem and crown just not sure if the headcap shoudl be flush with the stem, or get another small one for between the stem and headcap.

i have sorta learnt from a bad experience. it wasnt my fault, i got the bike second hand and he had already cut the steer tube too short, so it was hard deciding on frame and stems
