Does anybody knoe what happened to the idea of having a dowhill track made at aurthers seat for state rounds and possibly nationals.
i heard about about 6 months ago.
What caused the idea to get shutdown.
apart from the fact one of the chailift towers collapsed?
are the chairlofts going agian?

our local dh site/club venue is being shut down due to liability, at the moment we have no longer got anywhere to officaly race. except for the nq round at the end of next month and then the land is goneeee.

Arthurs Seat was under consideration for a State Round by FTF. Don't know if there was a thumbs up though. Mainly depends on logistics and land owners.
From what I can remember, there was a significantly high profile race there years ago, say 5 plus years ago (nationals, nat round, something else), so the logistics must be OK. If it's Park Vic (ie. state park) then there's more chance......but if it's national park or some other owner, then it'll diminish the chances significantly.

Could anyone give me some directions to the Arthur's Seat DH track(s)?

They use to have a Xc race there..was run by FTF and dromana tech. Was around the school grounds and private land. Its mostly National park around the area where the chairlifts were. so dont think theres any chance of down hill happening there.A down hill / North shore track has been built on some land owned by the quary. Its hard to find and involves riding/walking up a steep hill.
