i got a pair of usd forks and i wanna knwo if anyone has any ideas or suggestions in preventing dust constantly getting into the seals and stones etc on the staunchions.

i knwo there are 2 options:

1) get some boot legs that velcro around the staunchions
2) grills that bolt onto the 20mm clamp nuts.
- how much should/would i be paying for these?

is there anything else that wont cost as much?

Plastic staunchion guards like Shivers have are the way to go. Fork boots get filled up with mud that doesn't escape easily.

I doubt you can find any universal ones, but you could probably make some of your own with a couple of bits of thinnish plastic. Just heat em up over a stove, bend em around a bit, and attach them via whatever means possible.

yeah i was thinking of making them out or perspex, but they are too brittle and a slight impact would break tem easily.

have you had any trouble with damaging yours??
