Thanks for posting some pics, but here's a tip for the future...

Take all your shots from the side or from the bottom. Ones from the top really aren't much to look at.

Boys,

If you are going to do big shit on hard tails firstly, for gods sake wear a full face helmet. Your mate was very lucky not to have ended up at the dentist with all his teeth in a glass of milk asking to have them reinserted. Secondly, don't expect your hard tails to last very long. Get yourself a full suspension for that shit. Hardtails are best used for jumping and trials stuff, not big DH drops.

We have filmed all those sections as well. Will post once we have finished editing our fottage.

CD,
although I agree with you on the full face helmet thing... There is no reason to ditch the hardtails for that stuff. Sure, it's harder on the bike, but the best riders can step up to most stuff that your average bloke on a squish can do. Why buy suspension? Because it makes things easier? Some people would regard that as a soft option, or cheating, or a cop out. You don't have to be as good a rider on a full squish. You DO have to have better skills to be smooth on a hardtail.

Let'em ride'em, I say. I give more respect to them!

i went from a FS to a HT and it instantly made me a better rider. everything just seems esier and im doing all the same stuff i used to do on my FS. and there more fun to ride IMO

Hardtails are nearly always stronger than "comparable" duallies. A strong hardtail will take a HUGE beating, but DH bikes (just due to moving parts etc) tend to break considerably easier IMO. For example, my old Norco Team DH cracked doing ONLY DH runs - no dropping or dirtjumping or anything it wasn't designed for. It's a lot easier to make a hardtail stronger because the designers don't have to consider the forces applied at 100 different positions in the travel etc, don't have to worry about bearings being ripped out, shocks blowing up etc. Really, I would say that most decent hardtails will stand up to a LOT more punishment than most duallies.

*nods in agreeance with Socket*
On a decent hardtail, the rider is the weak link IMO, ie, he'll break before the bike does.

I know my knees/ankles will collapse well before the rear end of my DK does, but if I abused a dually the same way, I'd probably kill the bike.

What the hell were you thinking not waering a Fullface? Is it not cool to wear one? Oh and that VB singlet- i wouldnt ......

Are you guys idiots? Far out, lay off them... save the parenting for when you are one. They make a choice, at least they're wearing helmets. Fashion isn't always a decision when it comes to clothing, practicality comes into it too.

Just because you need a dually and a fullface to ride, doesn't mean everyone else does.
Whilst I promote the use of fullface helmets, we shouldn't force them upon people.

I agree rik but, when riding you dont go out in "stubbies, a singlet and thongs" do you? Its just stupid! you cover up- no one likes to hurt themselves, so shouldnt he be wearing something like a t-shirt? I wasnt commenting on fashion sense- its all about not wanting to fu*k yourself up. I dont want to do the parenting- its their choice. Im just trying to get the message across.

That's where you're commenting on fashion.

Whilst I agree that we need to gear up when necessary, just don't try and come accross too harsh when suggesting it to others. They make the choices, they have to live it down.
Oh, and regarding Tshirts, they don't stop bruises and breaks, and sometimes won't even stop grazes, so they're just as useless as singlets for protection.

I meant a T-shirt at least. Sorry for coming across too harsh, that is if i did.
