In the first part of our series, we got you in touch with the darker side of your riding. In this, the second part of the Fly By Night series, we're going to give you the low-down on the two most important components of any serious night-riding light system: the battery and the bulb.
Check it out here ('/page.php?p=458391').

Some of your glossary is slightly off. Kelvin is just a temperature measurement. It is exactly the same as degrees celsius except that 0 kelvin is equal to -273.15 degrees C.
Watts aren't subjective at all. As you say they are the amount of power that a light uses. Some lights are just able to put out more light using a similar power draw than others.

Standard unit for color temperature is Kelvin (k).

Do you feel that it's an inappropriate characteristic to be using for selling the light on it's brightness, though?
I was essentially saying that you shouldn't try to gauge the brightness or intensity of a light on the amount of watts it uses...
It's subjectiveness arises from just what you said... Different kinds of bulbs put out different amounts of light at the same wattage. Hence, it's subjective nature.

No, because the wattage it draws affects the brightness (as well as the battery life) significantly. It's not a subjective measurement as such, it just isn't universally comparable due to some systems being more efficient/different.
