Look up "bowden spur" (might be bowden spur road) on the melways. It's on page (that's PAGE not MAP) 10, up the top. The downhill track is a bit to the west of that, and crisscrosses the fireroad that winds down the hill. The track goes down right below the huge powerlines there (you know those gigantic ones that they have to clear forest n shit to run em through), but I imagine it'd be hard to find without someone to show you where it goes and ends.

Also I don't think it's shuttleable anymore, apparently a gate's been put in up the top so no more cars in there.

The track is alright but not great, it doesn't flow and it's one of those tracks that is difficult to get down let alone go fast on. Fun for the challenge a few times, but you get sick of it pretty quickly.

I was up there a week or so ago and the gate was open. Thanks to some bolt cutters a few blokes had. Sockets right its a challange to get down let alone get down fast, even worst if its wet. As far as the location of the track and following it see the map here. The yellow dots are start and finish (about) and the green dot is the gate that is sometimes locked. http://home.iprimus.com.au/darkbeatts/dhrun.JPG

If you go to www.pushi.com.au there is a video of them doing the track, watch it enough times and you'll know where to ride (that's what i did).

Oh, and the track starts just above the second carpark as you drive down the dirt road (Bowden spur Rd) from the main kinglake road. Be careful with you car in the carpark, as its very slippery and last time i was up there some blokes got stuck.

I've graduated to a "weekend rider" thats about right too.
