Yakuza is Iron Horse's new freeride series for riders looking to go big on limited funds. Whether you're a grom getting into the sport or a seasoned rider on a budget, these huck-worthy 6061 alloy hardtail and dual suspension frames are engineered for performance on the most demanding trails, downhill courses, and urban riding.

Check it out here ('http://www.farkin.net/page.php?p=ed2327').

yeah, I can get the deal with one or two maybe. But the whole line being named after japanese board (or whatever they are) games is a little much....

I think they are named after hierarchy/structure/families of japanese mafia.

did i just state the bleeding obvious? :)

It has 8 speed X7 triggers. Iron Horse have really got their specs sorted this year, because the 8 speed stuff will be much more reliable and economical on a $3500 DH bike. The floating brake will be pretty neat too, most DH frames with Floaters cost more than this bike.

It looks a bit cluttered for a single pivot, but then again thats the Iron Horse style.

I sincerely hope they can keep up with the demand.
After working fri + sat nights for the next how many months, I plan on purchasing one.

$3500 for the kumicho is alright especially for a shortass like me ( 5 foot only) but compared to the deal my mate just landed, 05 dh comp for $3300 cash, its bullshit. I'd pay 2900. The 5th element is only a 3-way anyway

Just so you know - it's not a good idea to go round quoting prices when obviously you (or in this case your mate) have been hooked up with an awesome deal, well below RRP. Shops don't really like it when some dude rocks up and says "someone on the internet got a DH Team for $1500 new, so here's $1500, where's my DH Team?"
In other words, if you got an awesome deal, tell people that you did get hooked up (and by who if ya like), but mentioning actual prices isn't a good idea, as I said above.

BTW - $3500 for a properly specced DH bike is about as cheap as it gets. The shock still has the same technology and damping as the other ones, just not the adjustment. It's not that big a deal.

Umm, isn't the 5th element 5 way adjustable? not 3 way?

I rode a mate's Yakuza the other day, they feel really solid, i dropped about an 8 footer first hit after riding the bike about 5 minutes (and i dont usually ride duallies) as well as hitting about 3 new lines. it's an easy bike to be confident on!
