View Full Version : .243 Racing Frame Review
Only a short review (http://www.farkin.net/page.php?p=08be56) of the popular .243 frame based on a short test we got to do over the winter. Big thank to Tomac at ForTheRiders (http://www.fortheriders.com) and to Luke Wolfik for letting us thrash his bike!

.243s are overrated, how dare you give it a good review! ;)
I think overweighted was the word you're after...

worst thing i have found with the .243 ( apart from the annoying and vocal polarisation of opinions) is that the paint seems to chip and scratch easily, has anyone else found this?

Strange, I've found mine is quite the opposite actually... weird. I don't ride mine on anything much other than dirtjumps and street stuff though, maybe that's got something to do with it.

hmmm, i mostly dh on mine, but streets are usually as hard as rocks so i dont see how that should matter.
ive also ridden some xc type stuff on it and actually isnt to bad( in ref to the review)
Streets are hard, but they don't flick up at ya ;)
Loose gravel does.

Down here in melbourne, they've put asphalt all over the roads. It's a big step up over the old dirt/gravel deathtraps ;)

The .243 is a great frame, however i did notice that the paint did wear and chip a lot easier than the other bikes i've had. Granted, i do a lot of shuttling which can give a frame a hammering, but it was pretty bad. I was going to repaint it every year anyway. Now i'm selling it ( shameless plug* check the for sales)
