wat do you all think is the best frame for 4x/slalom?

HT or FS?
Any hardtail with a reasonably long TT and a slackish head angle. I reckon duallie frames for 4x aren't much good.

duallies for 4x are good. It is just that we have to get away from the "big bmx" tracks that seem to be what most people are riding now and start to put a few more mountain orientated stunts into the tracks so that the duallies become a viable option.

yes, but while we're still on those tracks (which it seems that we are because we're still using em ;) ), hardtails are as good or better than duallies IMO.

GT Ruckus frame ther designed realy well and brain lopes rides one so yer
Lopes is a champ. Norco seems to be the way to go though

So what? Lopes doesn't ride a Ruckus frame... he rides a custom made/specced frame, which has EXACTLY the geometry he asks for, and which doesn't appear on production models. Of course they plaster it with stickers to make it look like a proddy model, but it isn't.
Besides that, Steve Peat rides a Patriot, CK rides a Tazer, Eric Carter rides (rode?) a Turner, Rennie used to ride a friggin XC bike (now rides a slightly more beefed up XC bike!), yet you're not reccomending any of those... WHAT PROS RIDE HAS LITTLE RELEVANCE TO WHAT YOU SHOULD BUY.

Yes lopes does ride a custom ruckus but how are u gonna get 1 of those? there are only a few diff is the length of his chain stays on lopes' bike they are as short as possible for a 26" wheel and the head tube on his is frame is from DH-i but as i said the ruckus frames are cool even if he DOES ride a custom made/specced frame, which has exactly the geo which he has asked to remain secret and runs 175mm xtr cranks for better gate starts. and users a shimano inboard shifter which was only issued to a very small number of ppl, but as i said the ruckus frames are cool not the super duper custom made ruckus frames are cool

do you reckon u can have 6 inches up front but set them up really hard? or should i jjust buy 4-5 inches for the front?
id say 4-5 for 4x you dont want your forks bouncing round when your tryna pick up speed

i have ridden a ht with ud150's on the front. they are set up pretty hard and i could out sprint friends with 4/5 up front. i reckon if i set them really hard, just for hard landing and big hits i would do ok. but i dunno, havent been into 4x and shit for long. gotta get out of freeride and trials.

"there are only a few diff"? EVERY SINGLE THING ON HIS BIKE is different to the production model, except that a) it's a bike and b) it's made out of metal tubes. The geometry is all different, no doubt he uses different thickness/diameter tubing for different characteristics, he runs pro-only components (how the hell is that relevant anyway? you're just trying to act like you know everything about it)
but as i said the ruckus frames are cool not the super duper custom made ruckus frames are cool
Then why did you mention Lopes?
Oh, and for the record - I read that article in MBA too ;) it's ages old now.
