Ok.. I am looking for a starting point with my shock. Compression and rebound. How many click of both? What are you running and likes/dislikes wiht that setting?

Thanx

I run it on the softest, fastest setting because i only weigh 55-60kg. I like the Vanilla RC Shock. It runs better than others i have used.

Well all I can say is find out how many revolutions there are on the compression and rebound, and simply go half way with both. Then you work it out yourself. What might be good for one may not be right for another.

just play around with it till your satisfied... thats what i do and im happy, also if i want to get somewhere quick and easy and not do ne drops or whatever i just put my rebound on slloooooooow and yeh, then i compresses and by the time it wants to streacgh out again, you have pedalled again, giving you more pedal power, ie, shock is absorbing it all...

That can and will cause your shock to pack up.

I run mine pretty fast compression, reasonably slow rebound. This way it feels less harsh than if the compression is jacked up tons, and it doesn't pogo at all.

a good start for rebound is to pick up the rear wheel a lift about half a metre then drop it
if the wheel bounces adjust it so that it wont bounce
when you play with the rebound setting you will find about half way through the adjustment that adjusting between one of the click produces a quite significant change of the rebound ( i guess its the limitation of the Fox RC it is FASTEST FAST or SLOW and SLOWEST it lacks the a good inbetween setting)
i run my shock usually the faster side of this mid point

playing with the compression is a little dangerous on the RC as if you slow it down too much they have a tendancy to blow the seals should you do a jump or drop, i only you slow down the compression if i know i have a big climb or something like that
otherwise its fully open ie fastest

best way is to ride it on the same trail over and over changing the settings and seeing how your bike responds

once you get them sorted youll see that on some trials your rebound is too fast or too slow and youll know how to correct it for next time

i think its a very personal thing.. some people have them reealy slow, and others have them nearly too quick..
try to match it with your riding style.. dont ask me how.. i ride a hardtail! lol

ride over the gutter a few times and tweek it until your happy. start the dials were you want . cause unless there good straight off then you should tweek them anyway to see how it feels.

Your compression should be set up so that when u sit on the bike it sag's 25% of the shocks stroke. U do this by measuring from the center of one bolt to the other then get on the bike, adjust until it sag's that 25%.
As for rebound i've found that a slower rebound is the go. To fast and it will kick u in the ass, but not to slow or it will pack up. This setup has worked on all of my race or trail bikes.
