i luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuv it. im getting one. how do u like it? what year?
Yeah, it's about a 99 from what I can figure maybe even a bit earlier, got a standard MTB bottom bracket with horizontal dropouts which you can't get anymore and oz-freerider's right, there's no rear disc mounts, though being steel I could probably get some welded on. Peg is gone now, solid rear axle lasted exactly 5 grinds before it was bent beyond saving, 10mm is just not fat enough for pegs. To answer your question Chewy, I luuuuuuuuuuuuuv it too, the easiest way I find to describe it is 'it just feels right' buy one and you won't be dissapointed.
Does anyone know how much a dmr trailstar retails for, you know the 02 or 03 ones :)
$650ish from any shop who deal with dirt works (every shop deals with dirt works)

Looks like ya chain might actually stay on now! Looks SO much better without that derailleur.
Single speed and rear brake only, the way nature intended :)
Two thumbs up dude, love it!
Question though, were you always intending to use it as a SS? If you were why go with the vertical dropouts?
with the sidekick if you go horizontal drop out you have to get a BMX BB aswell i think.

He got:
Frame: $450 (on special)
Wheels + fork: $250 + his old XC wheels which I'm now killing :D
Cranks + BB: $90 or something I think
And other parts I'm pretty sure he had just sitting round... right Andrew?
Ryan: Would you turn your nose up at a $700 frame for $450 just cos it had vertical dropouts? ;)

Brunswick St Cycles, naturally.... best shop I know of!
skillz: DMR are imported thru Dirtworks (remember the catalogue a few AMB's ago, that was Dirtworks), which means just about every shop in Australia is by default a DMR shop.
Socket: Hells no I wouldn't, $450 for a Sidekick is a sick deal.
Yep, $450 is almost as good as the deal I got on my Trailstar....
And yeah, nearly every shop in oz deals with Dirt Works, even if only for the DT spokes.
PS: Note to those who are quoting posts with pics, while many of us relish the delights of broadband, many still do not and quoting pics makes discussions overly bandwidth intensive for those people. Try and give it a miss if at all possible.
quotes with pics from the currennt thread shouldnt matter as your 'puter should cache the orignal pic then just display the quoted one from cache (as it's the same file name(is that right?))

That's because Shimano axles are shitty. You need a Standard BMX axle. Some of you may know of the company called Standard...they make a heat treated 10mm axle that is stronger than most 14mm's.

nice looking bike wot shoxs but the frame looks a bit thin is it strong?
Yeah mayhem, 4130 cromo so it's plenty strong, tubing thickness is not necessarily and indication of strength.

Ok matt, that was a massive grave dig mate. (grave digging is when you post something in a forum from like 2 years ago. lol. I did it once before and got flamed. Don't worry, just because you love MY dmr so much. lol)
