 this is a bit embarrasing for me but i gotta ask u guys. i hooked up with some bmx kids at school and we went to a jump park after school, im talking big gaps & big jumps. this was my first run at a park this hardcore, cause im used to yknow 8 foot gaps off jumps no higher than ur waist. and here im confronted by bloody jumps up to and above my head with near vertical takeoff. to put it nicely, i packed myself. ive got no probs with air, im pretty familiar with floating off a lip down 8 feet to a tranny but when shown a jump that just cant be done in my brain i hit it, go squirly and bail hard. so any tips on tackling stuff like this would be awesome.
thanx everyone

My only tip would be that if you think you cant do it you probably cant. I know from personal experience that if you hit somthing you think you cant do you are so nervous and freaked that you screw it up. Just build up to them. Dont try to go from small jumps to huge ones.

If you really feel that you're that far in over your head there, don't try those jumps just yet. Build up to them, as TJumper said, and make sure you're reasonably confident of at least staying somewhat upright before trying big jumps.

yea.. ^^ that helps heaps.. if you watch people that are better than you, you can sorta pick up little pointers on how to do stuff..
