View Full Version : The Comprehensive List of DJ Tricks
Add em in (make sure they have NOT been posted before, or under a different name), and I'll edit this post to include all of them. Please include a description of the trick if the name isn't self-explanatory (eg 360, or backflip). They also have to be actually possible in real life, on MTBs. Also, no point in posting combinations seeing as there are virtually limitless combinations of tricks.
I'll start:
1-hander
1-footer
no-hander/suicide
no-footer
360/720
backflip
x-up
whip
no-hander lander
barspin
tailwhip
superman/superman seatgrab
toboggan (where you turn the bars 90 deg, take one hand off, then lean back and grab the seat)
flatty/table/pancake
turndown
no foot one hand
one foot one hand
nothing
frontflip
flair
seatgrab
no foot seat grab
kiss of death
heart attack
bar hop
seran wrap
heel clicker
no footed can can
nac can
cat walk
What have I missed?
turndown
no foot one hand
one foot one hand
nothing
frontflip
flair
seatgrab
no foot seat grab
kiss of death
heart attack
candy bar, can can, nac nac, indian air, bus driver/truck driver.
there are heaps of moto tricks that have probably been done on mtbs too.
to find out what they are search for "'insert trick here'" bmx in google.
bar hop
seran wrap
heel clicker
no footed can can
nac can
cat walk
Ruler (not to sure if it's been done on a mtb but freesyyle moto's do it and it would be possible woth a big enough jump)
Lazy Boy
Turnbar
Ruler (not to sure if it's been done on a mtb but freesyyle moto's do it and it would be possible woth a big enough jump)
Lazy Boy
Turnbar
What's a ruler? And yeah it has to be realistically possible, on a MTB, over a dirtjump.
its possible my mate can do em on a bmx.
when you dive over the bars and get back on
but when you think about the current rate of progession crazy bmx stuff like backflip 360s, back flip tailwhips etc can't be to far off.
Yeah a ruler is when you basicly do a handstand while holding onto the bars and the bike drops vert making you and the bike look like a ruler. You would need a fair amount of air though.

pendulium... no-foot can one side, to no foot can the other..
my mate on BMX jumped on my bike and was doing no footer to no foot can to no footer..
then heel clicker to no foot can..
farkin beemer boys...
what about a decade, where you spin round 360 with the bars but the frame stays in place
decade kinda died off when street became more popular than vert, shame coz it was a sick trick to see busted out on BMX vids.
What is a seran wrap??
a candy bar and then you take your hand off and bring your foot around your bars back to your pedals
what about a decade, where you spin round 360 with the bars but the frame stays in place
Are they realistically do-able on MTBs? I've seen those before on BMXs, but you can do a lot of stuff on BMXs (eg turndowns) that are incredibly difficult, if not impossible on MTBs.

^^ they rok!
Nac Nac, seen a few done in pics.
The nac nac is at the head of the "Forbidden Tricks list", tricks which look so undeniably goofy they should never be performed by anyone on any bike at any time.
Well it looks killer when the FMX dudes do it.
Well it looks killer when the FMX dudes do it.
Yeah but the difference is that they're on a motorbike... it's also a big deal when someone backflips a moto, but on a BMX, shitloads of people can do em.

wanker...
i don't think socket was even talking about that RM7 argument... there is a infamous question that first sprung up on mtbr.... about a certain bike being good for freerding...
wanker...
a) you're a fuckhead
b) I wasn't bagging RM7s, as Kalem said, there was a guy on mtbr.com aaages ago called rm7boy who, every time anyone mentioned RM7s, posted "ARE THEY GOING TO MAKE AN RM7 FOR FREERIDING?"
Yeah yeah I know, but (again) he's making unwarranted assumptions as well as turning a thread into a shitfight.
no
he just called you a wanker

tool...
Oh, well that's ok then. Just as long as he can back that up, and he's not being a hypocrite or anything.
whats the difference between an xup and an xdown?? is it just rotating the opposite direction?
yeh dick just opposite directions
yeh dick just opposite directions
Is there any way to say which way is "up" and which way is "down"?
has anyone mentioned unturndowns?
another Liam YAY!!!! welcome Liam
Which ever feels comfortable for you is an xup socket x down is the opposite of comfortable
Holy shit, is that *THE* Liam? Panozzo?
Yes socket i am THE Liam
why are you so reluctant to say??
why do want to kno?
Just curious... welcome!
kool thanks
usally u can only do x downs on a mtb
thw wheel is to big and hits ur foot
it dpends on the rider i thought on which way felt natrual
yer it is
u cant change what feels good because someone sez your doin it the wrong way
so true. when i was a little grom i was like yeah do it like that guy.... and tryed to change my style it didnt work :?
it also works in opposite too.
sometimes if u try it like someone else u can find that its easier or more fun.
that can help u too.
True. I started out x-upping to the right, and whipping to the right... now I go to the left for both (altho I can go right as well). Trying to get my lamearse flatties to go to the left too, but they just don't wanna.
i just do wat i feel is good.
i can do both right and left but they are different styles.
left may feel beta 4 straght jumps that have a kick on them. right could feel beta 4 mellow jumps.
once u learn how to do them good both sides it opens up lots of posibilities fro more tricks
