On December 5th last year a mate and I went to an event at D'Aguilar (inland from Caboolture) for what was billed as the D.R.C.C. MTB tour. It's on a farm property and is a 4 km circuit. Admittedly it has a couple of nasty climbs, but an awesome downhill section - quite technical. There were classes for A, B and C grade as well as women's, juniors and vet A and B. For the XC race, the number of laps you did depended on which class you entered. After a BBQ lunch the organizers planned to run a time trial on the downhill section, but unfortunately that was washed out by a storm that came through. A lot of effort was put in by the organizers so it was really disappointing to one of only about 8 entrants. The point of this spiel is to let you know that they are running it again this Sunday (23rd) and although I can't make it due to other committments, I'd highly recommend it to anyone who thinks it might be their kind of thing.
