Yeah, i dunno what was wrong with me yesterday, i was a clutz all day, i was even falling over pushing back up the hill. :/
But hursty is well worth the trip, the trails are short, but very well thought out, well made and maintained, short push back up the hill, AND you can get there by train.

i'm so hardcore ive never crashed there.
did u guys hit the biggest drop?

shmity
18-08-2003, 06:17 PM
Well, the guys who live down the road from the trails said that the drop had been bulldozed, how you get a buldozer in there ill never know. We did find one that looked kinda sketch between two trees to a real steep short run out, but it looked more like a launch than a drop to me.

curtisrider
18-08-2003, 06:19 PM
yeah thats the one i mean
did u do it?
and i find the bulldozer thing preeety farfetched too

shmity
18-08-2003, 07:38 PM
i figured out what half my problem was, the compession damping on my forks was too soft, so when i hit the rock, instead of the wheel poping up and over it, my momentum when down the fork compressing it....the other half of the problem was im a tard.

oz-freerider
18-08-2003, 07:41 PM
haha i must admit u have perfect timing when it comes to bailing always when the camera is out

since when were there ladders at hursty?

Commander Dilsnikk
04-09-2003, 02:58 PM
ladder has been there a few months i think
madcore props to jeremy buchanan who built the ladder and the rest of the track (berms, etc.)

BTW the ladder roll-in was originally meant to be a drop (no roll in, just the top bit) but jeremy caned himself a few times and decided on the roll-in option...which is still pretty hard...and will get harder when the rocks erode more...i can't wait!!!

curtisrider
04-09-2003, 03:08 PM
mad, does he live on the street half-way up?

i havent been there for the last few months.

what happened to the drop with the small run off?

Commander Dilsnikk
04-09-2003, 03:13 PM
nah...he lives somewhere in eltham
i didn't know anything about that drop...neither did he coz we were up there a week or two ago and he didn't mention it...
if it was gone it wasn't done by a bulldozer though...no way u would have got one in and not left huge scars for everyone to see

if people go on the 28th they/we need to check out the trails on the other side of the ridge which were too wet to ride when i was there last...look like good fun...

there are also some plans to build a run with heaps of northshore on the other side...roll on summer holidays...

curtisrider
04-09-2003, 03:20 PM
madness, id be happy to help build ns there ive got a mate who lives in eltham who would help too,

about the drop someone said that is was gone so?

and what are the trails down the other side like? ive always been reluctant to do them because i dont know where to easily get back up?

Commander Dilsnikk
04-09-2003, 04:47 PM
there's only really one that i know of...not all that technically challenging but FARKIN FAST!!!
there's another that i know from the bottom but i think it's now overgrown and i'm not sure exactly where it starts...we could find it though...apparantly it used to be good...jumps and burms, etc.

the NS is gonna be further along the ridge if people can be fuked building it...it'll be alot of work

who is it u know in eltham??? i live just near there

curtisrider
04-09-2003, 04:53 PM
a mate called andrew, he lives off antoinette blvd which is over the bridge on main rd.

he rides a 2002 4hun.

Commander Dilsnikk
04-09-2003, 04:57 PM
i know his street (i go past there very day to go to school) and i've heard of someone around there who rides a 4-hun but i don't really know him...
any idea his last name or what school he goes to (if he does...)???

curtisrider
04-09-2003, 04:59 PM
andrew and he goes to my school balwyn high.

where do you go?

what do u ride?

Commander Dilsnikk
04-09-2003, 05:06 PM

u??

curtisrider
04-09-2003, 05:10 PM
balwyn high, 2001 norco 250 and 2000 giant dh team.

do ride with someone on an ATX-one?

and what year are you in?

andrew usually jumps at valonia and sometimes at diamo

Commander Dilsnikk
04-09-2003, 05:17 PM
i know three people with giant DH bikes...i'm not sure if they're the ATX series...i'm not a huge fan of giants...)

1 is a mate...his giant is blue and green
another i know little...blue and green
and the other i just met one day at the old BMX track in eltham...yellow and red (which i think is an atx1..but i don't really know)

i'm in yr12
i sometimes jump at valonia ...farkin love that big table off to the side!!! but i'm not all that good at jumping...i prefer urban and downhill...but i'm teaching myself to jump...i can almost pull a full flatty now...i'll get there...

curtisrider
04-09-2003, 05:23 PM
yeh valonia is pretty cool.
i meant the guy on the red and yellow one.
Have you encountered the hardcore scooter gang in eltham yet

Commander Dilsnikk
04-09-2003, 05:28 PM
yeah...that guy doesn't tend to do alot...just sit on his big bike and do hursty really slowly if he has to...hell i caned him on my p.3!!!

i can't say i've encountered a scooter gang though...

curtisrider
04-09-2003, 05:32 PM
hahaha......thats so funny people who sit on thier bike and think thier sick.

If you encounter the scooter gang you will laugh very hard.

They tried to chase us but we just rode normally so they threw a rock and missed instead it hit a car.
Then they road off,
