Here's a collection of pics taken yesterday at the MTB Park of the latest track called Mutha Hucker.
With a 2.8m drop (4m to tranny), it's got something to challenge just about anyone.

Geez Kram... how solid does that stuff look?!?

Where did you get the lumber from?

Where is this stuff built?

Any hassles from the landowners? Or is this "covert"?

This stuff is at the Dayboro MTB Park www.mountainbikepark.com
The wood was donated by a building supply company as it was not fit for resale due to warping, but it's perfect for us.

The park is not officially open yet, but when it is it will be kickin ass

Looks sweet... almost makes me want to move there just for that! I was trying to build ramps like those, but my friend's collapsed and he went into a landing ramp bending a hydraulic lever and snapping front d. Maybe I just wasnt that great in shop class.... :(

Thanks for your comments guys, Hopfully soon we will be adding the next set of hucks which will be even bigger. We are looking at building a 13ft, 8ft and see-saw to 6ft directly after the current see-saw you can see.

Get out and support the park, it's all good. :D :D :D

Cheers

Hi Ho Silver. Welcome to Farkin.
For those of you who don't know, Silver is responsible for getting the wood for all of this cool stuff you see. He also knows what to do with the wood, as you can see (along with a few of his talented friends). I'd like to take this opportunity to take credit for naming the track, which was a lot of hard work. I even made the little signs, which was also very hard work. Pretty soon there will be more stunts, so I'll have to make some more signs again and take more pictures.

Same I want one too!

Do you guys get grants from the gov and lotteries
who donated the land

Kram

The land is privately owned and the owners are supporting a MTB Park. Riders are required to have a MTBA license to ride, and once the park is open there will be a small user fee to put back into the development of the facilities.

All the wood so far has been donated by a building supply company.

In the near future there will be a whole lot more than what you see here. Give us a couple of months and we hope to have the most challenging permanent NS style track in Oz. Hopefully!

Man...that'd be somethin' I could go and hurt myself on....

...then there's another 2 levels higher!!!!

Nah....looks safe and secure...just how stunts need to be built.

I dont think it's supposed to be a pay out rokems, just an observation. It's heaps better built than a lot of the earlier NS stuff that sprung up around Brisbane (yes this includes some of your early work) not necessarily better than your work on Playground or other post-Blackstone projects, just the first pics that surfaced of obviously overbuilt stunts. Chill man :)

It's all cool 8) - I wasn't trippin' out (although I put the chainsaw in to be serviced.... :D ) just curious that's all. :?:

Thanks for the compliments by the way fellas. We're close to finishing the basic run on our NS track "Commitment. 2 more stunts were added today including "Golden Gate Bridge" :o :D .

You guys obviously took a bit of influence from the Aussie Red Bull Rampage, but hell yeah, that looks mad!
I'd like to know how y'all are going with insurance if you're trying to make some sort of commercial venture with that sorta stiff in it though :D

as ty said, i hear lots of stories of people building ns, and have even seen some built. i know this sport involves danger, but some of the ns stuff out there is plain dangerous! (half the stuff has trouble standing upright under its own weight)

a planned out and nicely construted obstacle would have to be a welcomed change...

that looks sick! doesnt look like much of a tranny on the drops tho. i hope there is one out of frame, or it could be a bike braker :)

Nah all the stuff we build comes from our own heads and the NWD series :D

mtba covers insurance. 8)

Jasen, does the mtba insurance cover the park for faulty or dangerous design/materials of tracks and jumps etc?
Looked at the mtba site but couldn't find anything regarding the insurance policy.
I am not having a go at the park either, just trying to answer some questions for some riders interested in going out there.
