private messages ?

why would i get an email notification of a new private message on 28/8 - then logon and there are no new messages ???????????

actually, what it could have been... people can send you pm's, but retract them before you read them if they wish to do so. The message sits in the outbox waiting for you the read it. Once read it goes into the sent items, at which point you cant delete. So i think thats whats happened.
