Ty checks out some Armor Hydraulic Brakes and speaks his mind. *For those that don't know, these are the relatively cheap alternatives to the other big brake brands like hayes etc.
Check it out here ('/page.php?p=4171c9ecdf0e6ace5c3d68309a6c3537').
Get some pics going in that Article eh ?
Ty took a whole heap of pics ?

another thing too.. if you want to run them for more DH stuff you can use them on Hayes 8in mounts and rotors.. im doing that now and they work much better..

they are very powerful arn't they. mine are fixed now and they are very fine. i've got the dice version. but only the front rotor. however they didn't come with an adaptor so i can only use the 6" rotor. :(

i think about 5 people in townsville are running them in townsville including soon to be myself...still havent mounted them. but everything has been good a lot of people have gone from there hayes to the armours and reakon they are wayyy better. so from townsville they are running great, although.... there is never any mud here so dont know about those conditions.

Have a look at the manual here: http://www.unlimitedbicycles.com.au then hit the tech button.
They're pretty straight froward, though I own Hayes so it was nothing new. One improvement on Hayes is that the pads are held in with a pin, no more disappearing pads!

Has anybody noticed that ARMOUR, DICE , DIATECH brakes actually come from the SAME FACTORY???????
Has anybody noticed that ARMOUR, DICE , DIATECH brakes actually come from the SAME FACTORY???????
did you even read the review
By all accounts, Armor disc brakes are manufactured by Pro Stop and are identical to the Dice Whiplash brakes, so it would be safe to assume that the Dice brakes perform in the same way.

Ye I got some dice!
They're low on fluids and need to top up. But they do really work pretty good. When full! But I might change, they dont modulate "that" well.

Ok my armor brakes just celebrated their first birthday and are going strong, still on the original pads with absolutely no warranty or reliability issues whatsoever.
I'm going to purchase another set for the xc steed.

Just a heads up for peps wanting more braking action. You can now get Armor 8" and 7". We sell em' at bikefanatic (calling them DH and FR) but you could just as easily get your lbs to order some in.
The DH has a 8" front and 7" rear
The FR has a 8" front and 6" rear
A point to note. The distributor isn't selling them as kits. They sell the 8" rotor and adapter seperate (even though they are made by the same company). So we took a bit of initative and start putting together the kits ourselves. They are a little more expensive because we end up with extra rotors and adapters (from the original kit).
Travis
And before anyone asks there is no 8" rear adapter currently available, so you can't run a 8"x8" (unless you have the adapter from elsewhere).

they are $379 a set, and there is no hidden delivery fees unlike some other places....(I think you would find Phantoms to be over $400 once you included postage).

I go mine on a super good deal and they were the last set so they were a little over 100 an end.
Look around and you might find some for cheap.

My liitle bro had a set on his old spesh and the were all class when compared to the stock Hayes HFX's which came with my AC-2 , especially those dodgy hayes levers which seem to rattle all the bloody time and if you tighten them up the dont move at all.
Just bought an armor 7" hydraulic front this afternoon. It looks the goods, but has anyone had any problems with the disc squeeling harshly while it all wears in?

What sort of pads do these brakes use? Are they Armor/Dice specific or what?
And just to add to the praise, I've ridden these brakes on a few mates bikes and they are damn nice, especially considering the price. I've only tried the small rotor ones, so the new bigger rotors must have killer stopping powah!

these brakes are really sounding good, im in the market for a new set for my DH bike im building up and at this price they sound like they cant be beat, if anyone sees a price lower than 379 a set let me via pm know coz im interested, also worth a note is the DH upgrade with 8' front and 7' rear oversize rotors for 450 bucks.
