i'd only go if the weather isnt gonna be wet that weekend
Well, if that city rides not going ahead, and n e one wants to come for a ride this weekend, me and my mate were going to head out to hursty on saturday to check it out, but only if its not pissing down with rain.

rode hursty the other weekend...
taking photos for a friend's year12 art stuff...
it was farkin PISSIN down!!!!
photos didn't turn out great but we scoped a new drop near the big rock section...doesn't look too difficult till you try to land it!!!
the rain makes it so much more of a challenge...especially since i'm on a hardtail and have only ridden the track twice!!! but the guy who built most of it...including the new north-shore style roll-in...was rippin it up!!!
the moral of my long rant...
hursty in the rain is challenging...slippery rocks have always been my nemesis...try it out...it adds a new dimension to an old track

there's some good downhill at fourth hill in warrandyte...not that it's all that accessible to those on public transport...

02-09-2003, 11:13 PM
your not ment to rie at warrandyte from what i know and their is big problems with ppl still ridng there and making it worse if we ever wanna ride there again...
How bigs this drop at hursty? Sounds interesting....

02-09-2003, 11:17 PM
i think i know the one he means and if some one takes some shovels i'll help fix it up and i'll give it a shot is it like at the last bit of the rock garden where u turn? like u would do the drop from the left where u turn right ? and gap over a few rocks?
Commander Dilsnikk
02-09-2003, 11:18 PM
don't know bout the warrandyte situation.. have to ask my friend whose house backs onto the track...
as for the drop...it can be 1 or2 feet or it can be 7or8...it all depends how much speed you feel like taking off the edge...just watch out for the tree and the roacks which make it very ahrd to get a good landing...
one guy took it ultra hard that day and ended up somewhere down the hill...after making close aquaintence with a few trees on the way down...
Well, if you want to go up this weekend, i'll probably drive up, so i'll take a few shovels and stuff.
Commander Dilsnikk
02-09-2003, 11:19 PM

i LOVE showing up the skaters who are jumping down like one stair...that'll teach them for being involved in a sport i'm no good at!!!
BTW do you know when the city skate park is open to bikes??? if at all....
oz-freerider
02-09-2003, 11:47 PM
no it isnt BUT! if your nice an explan how they are letting the bmxers ride there and they have NO BRAKES and we have brakes that can stop us in 5 meters any where in that park they let you stay they just tell you to take it easy theres some pics here http://www.nhd3.net/gallery/ride if u wanna have a look at what we get up to while in the city we hit stair gaps too but they are movie worthy so i have a few in a movie floating around on this site some where
Commander Dilsnikk
02-09-2003, 11:49 PM

Commander Dilsnikk
02-09-2003, 11:52 PM
it's all making a lot more sense now...
Commander Dilsnikk
02-09-2003, 11:55 PM
BTW...if ur looking for a daunting drop in the city...u probably already know it...but it's down behind fed square right next to the river...it's a 6-7foot retaining wall and u have about 5 metres to stop or u g into the river...
now that is a FUN drop...even if it's not great for the bike....
Commander Dilsnikk
02-09-2003, 11:58 PM
oh... it's to hard packed flat...
oz-freerider
03-09-2003, 12:00 AM

Commander Dilsnikk
03-09-2003, 12:07 AM
sounds fair enough to me...
i can never be fuked building trannies though...and the stuff in the city just seems so ready made...
oh well...we pay a price for convenience...even if $300 seems a tad steep
Commander Dilsnikk
03-09-2003, 12:10 AM
where's all that north-shore from the videos???
sorry bout all the questions... i've always ridden by myself and so i only know the trails, etc. that i've found...
narbethong (cant spell)
we should head up there 1 day !!
Commander Dilsnikk
03-09-2003, 08:53 AM
definitely...
after exams have finished...farkin school...
i spose then i've got 3months of freedom though...ooohhh yeah...i don't think i'll leave the bike
i agree on the no city thing, i need to go riding more places. Mind you, the city is still good for a fuck around every now and then.
DJ'ing sounds good, aslong as we go somewhere where there's easy stuff (not for anyone inparticular).

DH sounds cool, but most of those are pretty far out of the city...To thinks I cant wait for:
1) To get my Giant AC built up! 8)
2) And get my fucking lazy ass off to get my licence and learners before that
