CROSS COUNTRY JUNIOR MEN
The Austrian Robert Gehbauer is the new junior world cross country champion. The biker from Villach dominated the 29km race, held in the beautiful resort of Livigno. From the very beginning the biker left all the others behind. At the arrival Gehbauer got the advantage of more than 2 min, in front of the French Olivier Sarrazin and the third the Belgium Tim Wijnands. This is the second season for Gehbauer who gained the sixth position in Kluisbergen at the European Championships. In Italy he won the European Cup in Malι. This year he won for twenty times, always in the mountain bike races. The first Italian was Christian Cominelli who gained the seventh position.

Tereza Hurikova, athlete of the Czech Republic won the gold medal for the female cross country juniors at the MTB World Championships today on its second day. Hurikaova went straight ahead, leaving progressively the others behind from the beginning of the race to the end with 104 in front of the German Hanna Klein and the bronze medallist the Slovenian Tanja Zakely with the difference of 218.Hurikova adds this medal to the world title on the road in Verona 2004: the Czechs biker is a mountain biker as well as a road biker. Last year she won the bronze in Les Gets(Fra).
