View Full Version : Refreshing
Hi site admin,
Im having a problem with the site not refreshing itself regularly, like whenever i go into 'general mtb' it comes up with the last post as at 5:35pm yesterday.
and it doesnt refresh itself from there on. All of the threads dont refresh either....
anyone else experiencing this problem??
it could just be my computer or web.....
thanks guys

hrm....
do you have this trouble with any other websites such as the pinkbike or hcor forums?
on first guess it might be your machine running in and out of offline mode (caching webstuff), and the other thing could be that you are using a proxy server that is caching the site also.
it cant be a problem with this site by the way it runs... each time a page is loaded, all the content comes from the database... none of that can be old data..
let me know how you go...
let me know how you go...

try Ctrl-F5 it's a clean refresh. try cleaning out your cache, that way it won't have anything from 5.35 yesterday.
sorry, im a bit of a dumby at computers....
whats a cache??
thanks
alex.
try using the active topics button until it works again
ok, now only for sale and site problems refresh !!
i have to refresh all of the other threads !!
isnt that weird !!
Cache is like a memory of sorts, if you visit a page alot, parts will be stored locally in your pc's cache, to make things quicker when viewing.
The "?" in the URL of forum pages tells me it should refresh no matter what, so maybe your pc is playing silly buggers.
Go to "Tools" menu in IE, select "Internet Options" and on the first page should be a "Temporary files" thingy, click "delete files" and see how you go. That won't do anything bad, it'll just delete your cache, but once you surf around a bit things will speed up again.
sweet rik thanks.....
sounds like a plan !!
i am on my laptop at the moment in canberra, so no problems on it !!
i will fix the problem a.s.a.p .....
