sweet, hope to see lots more of the guides in aus, supercharger kits would be sweet (just the bashguard). I know my blackspire guide would appreciate a black makrolon® bashguard...

Isn't Makrolon just a brand name for polycarbonate ?! I believe we buy it from BASF. I'm the CNCer of the company and i don't have alot to do with the moulding side of things so correct me if i'm wrong.

yeah makrolon is the brand name, i just found it funny too hear work place terms used on farkin.

not BASF (choppers), i work for Bayer (in the crop science department though) but i did a few months as a trainee in the polycarbonate business.

Yes, Norco if you're listening to this, get some Supercharger kits!!!

On the other hand, is there anybody out there who would like an Evil guide, but only the guide alone, no bashguard?

Wombat, i'll see what i can do about trying to convince Norco to get some supercharger kits, they haven't managed to sell the 10 SRSs they got in so i don't think they'll be too keen to start stocking up on expensive parts they may not be able to move.

Cheers. I'll have a talk to our rep too and see if he feels like opening up a guide for me, if not maybe they'll want to offload the guides....
Otherwise I spose I'll have to look at getting one of the Canadian boys to ship one over for me.

That's a good deal, but I really only want the supercharger kit. I'll probably just get one sent over, Rich owes me a favour anyway.

Hey people, Derek from Norco here. We have limited supplies of the Evil guides left in stock now, and we will likely do a limited run of Superchargers in the next order. I have to say that support from the bike shops of Australia has been slow on the Evil stuff. Go in to the shops and ASK for it, otherwise you will never see new products on the shelf. Our next runs of guides will be E-13 branded (same as Evil in every other way). The coolest thing about the Evil/E-13 guides is the fact they make specific sizes for certain PCD and chainring sizes. Unfortunately this makes it hard to guess what people are going to want.
So here is your opportunity to get what you want. Let me know what sizes and PCD you are running so I can get an idea of what you want to see in your shops. From there on in it's up to you to get the shops to order them in.

Anyway, talk to you again soon.

Cheers, Derek.

Derek, just wondering what an approximate $AUD price would be on a Supercharger kit?

Derek Yates

Not too sure pricing on the Bashguards alone just yet. Without knowing the value of the $AUS, and the freight on the shipment (more stuff in one hit the cheaper they get) I couldn't say. At a guess I'd be thinking around $99.00, but like I said there are a lot of factors that could make that jump up or down a fair bit.

it can fit either IGS mounts or it comes with an adaptor pate to mount to the BB shell, it also comes with a heap of shims to space it out "just right" i'm still pretty happy with mine but it's started to look pretty beaten up from trying to grind on it when i first got it (over that now) if i got another one i would get the black instead of clear.

PM me if you want any other details.

You know whats funny about that. One of the very first bikes the guide went onto was a Turner DHR. 2 of the Evil team had them at the time the guide was released/designed. There is no way on earth Dave would make a guide that doesn't fit a Turner DHR.

the evil guide and profiles worked as if they were made solely for the new DHR, the guide AND cranks bolted and lined up perfectly with no washers, and no BB spacers....the chainline is ridiculously good....in fact, it's so good that in the smallest gear, the chain rubs on the inside of the bashguard(that's as good as it gets).....the guide worked amazingly well as always, and everyone i rode with was freaking out over the evil and avalanche stuff....

The frame behind that guide is a DHR

Thats Acadians. He's a clean freak.

BTW, mine doesn't get used much now but in the past i've never had a problem keeping it clean.
What chain lube are you using Ty ? I found some "Singer Oil" works great, nice and light so it doesn't collect too much crap and it pretty much hoses off, gunk and all.
This is after a few months use
