8" adaptor for XSIV rear brake

Hey, I've got an XSIV 6" hydraulic on the rear of my bike and want to upgrade to 8". Are there adaptors available? Where from? :?

What sort of mount does it use (Hayes post-mount style, or International Standard)?

It's got the international standard mounting. I'm looking into buying the Shimano XT downhill kit with adaptor and larger rotor because I've been told the brakes are cross compatible.

The XSIV is exactly the same as the XT Shimano, same casting, same pads, different Logo. You should be safe with XT kit. If not, I'm pretty sure they are made by Grimmeca, so maybe contact them.

Yeah I'll have a scout around a few shops and see what they have in stock. I've been tweaking my existing 6" setup so it doesn't kill my arms for the time being so it might be alright till the next race where I can check out what other XSIV users are doing.

I live in Logan but I might not have the $s for the brake upgrade for awhile now. Some m*therf*cker nicked my car (which was crap anyway) but had my dainese, gloves and shoes in it. F*ck.

hey toodles i own a front XSIV mech disc, but i nned a rear mount for it , i live in vic. do u no where i could get one? i just need the addapter though. is the mech the same as any other shimano disc brakes? please email me all_weirdos_r@hotmail.com PLEASE!!!

Update - ended up working fine with a Shimano 8" adapter, XSIV brake and Hayes rotor :) Glad companies use some standard mountings

i got the XSIV hydros how is the shimano kit working, im looking at putting the 8" on the front. how much did it cost u?? :?:
