Hi Farkin crew. I think I've made my feeling clear about this site in general and on the new "clean-up" direction you're taking... it's ALL bloody good stuff. A suggestion though because after the recent post on FTF about Farkin being a dud place to trade I think maybe you need to do anything possible to ensure that is not the case... and helping people trade with confidence would be the big thing there, I reckon. So....

I think the trading history section would be more effective if everyone was restricted to ONE post that they simply edited over and over with each new piece of relevant info that could be slotted into very simple headings. Not suggesting my way is the ideal but have a look at my post here http://www.farkin.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=74940#74940 ... this way everything I trade is right there in ONE post rather than new post every trade. Maybe even a search function (by member) for this particular forum so people can quickly find who they're thinking of dealing with. Every members post could have "Bought FROM"... "Sold TO" ... "Swapped"... "Warning!"...

.... AND I think the most important rule would need to be NO OTHER POSTS ALLOWED... meaning no discussion, no details, no flaming... JUST FACTS and the invitation to get details from a member (either good or bad) via PM or email ONLY. This was it keeps the forum clean and useful.

Cheers

Hmmm, I'm not sure that I completely agree with this point, I can just see people having to answer the same question via PM 20 times.

True, Shane, but it's WAY too easy to slander someone in cyber space. Maybe I didn't think it through enough but something doesn't sit right with me if people are allowed to say whatever they like about another person in an open forum. Any ideas?

as far as farkin itself is concerned, better to answer 20 pm's and keep the forum clean and uncluttered maybe?

I am sooo stoopid  . I completely misunderstood what you were talking about, sorry Jon. I agree, so lets return to normal programming.

No probs, Shayne... I don't think I understood what you were saying either so we can be stooopid together.

Anyway, I will certainly be interested to know what the mods think of this idea.... but they do seem rather busy lately with all their (good) changes.

Sounds like a sensible idea to me :)
