Which would be a better dirt jumping fork:
2003 Marzocchi dj1's or
2003 Fox Forxs Talas?

i think the talas is a xc only fork and the dj is made for dirt jumping so it should last alot longer

The TALAS is the Fox version of the Psylo. Either would be fine really, but I'd get a DJ1 cos I'm a Marzocchi fan.

DJ1 is probably your best bet, if you like fox forks i recomend the Vanilla R with reduced travel to 80mm, i was very happy with mine (till some low life stole my bike).

Edit: what he said, with QR20 and the bolt-on arch. Awesome fork, I dunno why he wants to replace it.

I wouldn't even bother with the new internals, the old ones were pretty sick anyway.

yeah but if they have been riden hard they might be all bent up so they may feel crapy

Don't encourage him to do ANY mechanical work, this guy is the guy who took apart his entire Hayes caliper just to change the pads...
Needed to have it reassembled and bled by the shop!

"01 Z5 qr20+"
I think he got the year wrong as 2000 was the last year for the removable arch

nah there were z.5 20mm, not qr20 on the 01 250cc bikes

JimmyJ

but did they have the removable arch? cause im 99.9% sure 2000 was the last year with removable arches. Unless there were some left over and were put on 250cc's
