Ahhhhhhh Thredbo. It takes me back, back to the start of it all. Back to the nineties, back to a time where hardtails with 3 inch travel forks and 3 chain rings were still accepted downhill machines, when Ronning, Sharples and Miller were the stars, when downhill was in its prime and crowds swarmed the hill like flies...

Great article! It was spot on. Just a small note - Daniel Lavis the Under 15's winner lost his chain not long after the fire road and not only won but still managed a reasonable time of 7:14.

Very clever, very funny, very good. I think Oli should do the race reports from every State because that is one of the best reviews I have read. Well done. Hats huh!! I guess we have already got em beat raffleing of a Giant DH Comp frame and that is just one of many prizes.

Great report, well written. I still can't believe they gave out hats as prizes. I can tell you now, I will not be going back to Thredbo until some one else is running the show. The guy has screwed one of the best riding spots in NSW because of his incompetance.

Well as one of those that 'boycotted' this event i hope that the powers that be in Thredbo take a close look at whats going on. After the national round in Dec I made the choice not to support further races there until they sorted out how to run a decent race. I wouldnt be at all surprised if the state round was the nail in the coffin (hats anyone?)
What I dont understand is why Thredbo gets so many races, in my humble opinion its time they got put out to pasture until they can prove they have organisers who will put the effort into these races that they deserve.

i really cant say too many bad things about thredbo, i thought it was organised fairly well seeing that there were bugger all pre entrys and still a shit load of people turned out for the weekend and i think it went smooth enough, the hats for prizes did suck balls though for sure.
the lithgow round was a better event but still with the low pre entry it was going to be hard for the organisers to judge how many people were going to turn up, and it showed while we waited more than an hour to be shutled up the hill from the bottom of the track.
its going to be interesting to see how we go at coffs for the third round, weather or not enough people pre enter before the race weekend so the organisers know what there dealing with before the event gets underway.
i've pre entered this time:o have you???
