Hey, i have sourced a great area to build a downhill and a freeriding trail network area but the only problem is that it is a NP or it is council owned land.:(
I have not started building nor i think i should, before asking the council, but there are some bush walking tracks at the bottom of the proposed finish area. How do i go about persuading the Local Council or the National Parks and Wildlife Services to grant this area.
Do i stand a chance, What should i do ......................................

first of all if its council land theres a 1 in 7million they will let you build there i would only say go ahead if it is really far in the bush where no one ever gose to. it is most likely the be ripped down if people walk arond there because they will tell the council in days. maby u could build somthing little that wont matter if it get's ripped down and see if there is a dicky over it. my 2 cent's

Two things that are very helpful in convincing you're council, both pinched form scratchy (cheers mate).
Good luck.

keep it small to start with if you are going to build and maybe build little bit by little bit for a few months to try and slowly eaze it in.
so then its not just one majour impact on the place.

I don't think you should waste your time building on council land. You see the council are bike track thirsty, they find a track on their land and they destroy it and that's it, you repaire it and they'll destroy it again, it happens to all.

You are probably best off working through a local a club. They tend to have a lot more clout.

i would just go ahead and start and see if the council knocks it down, because you have no chance with the council and if you suggest it they know were your goin to be thinking about building therefor they will probably check on it

yer i wouldn't waste your time, we once built on council land and those jumps lasted a few months and then got ripped down. but it depends how far out of the way they are.
