i am interested in building a cross country track, this may be very stupid but what do you put in a cross country track. it cant just be a track that loops around that goes up and down hill can it? there would have to be some obstacles you could put in there? i have a great place to build one, i think? its in a great big glly and it can go around it varying from up and down hill. if any body here can tell me what to put or build on a track would be great! just riding on a boring old track that goes up and down would just be plain old boring.

I highly doubt that..... But for a xc track just try to make it loop around so u are able to tire the crap outof urself.. make it painful.. make it exciting... make it...good...... :D

anyway.. just try put lots of single track dosnt have to be technical just fun. and... did i say painful ? so if u try it out and it dosnt seem that painful the first time round make sure you go around another 10 times :D :D :D

Just do the ourimbah XC track, that should give you a good idea of what XC tracks are like.

Maybe try to think of it as you would a downhill track... only a less intense version. Essentially you want to have fun, you want good flow, some nice corners, some techy stuff, and you want your skills tested... except now you want this stuff when going up as well as going down :)

Hell you could even put some NS bridges and Ewok builds in it... just make it wider and lower to the ground!

I think the terrain you have to work with will largely dictate what sort of course you will wind up with, eg how steep, rocky, technical etc. I've seen people on XC bikes take on DH trails quite smooth and successfully, so there is essentially nothing you can't do.... just maybe skip the free ride hucks and gaps! :)

amen to that shit right there.

yeh think about would you would have on a dh track. for example if you were to have a jump over a fallen down tree on a dh track you would be hitting it hard so you can get some air. on a xc track maybe pile up heaps on logs/dirt on both side so you can role over it to make it interesting but tricky
