after many sleepless nights thinking about what new freeride bike to purchase, i have come to the the conclusion to buy a BIGhit expert choosing this over a Norco Fuse.

Anyone have any last comments on the bike, good, bad, etc,

it rides like a dream.

Im virtually in the same position......Either a Norco Atomik(3000) or a Specialized BigHit comp(3799)??,personally i think the Bighit would be more the Freerider of the 2 and take a bit more Abuse....then again it depends on what ur doing eh :) Must admit tho the 2004 bighit comp(silver colored with DJ2 150mm) looks RAD!!! :)

CHEERS.

yeh i rode the comp today, its allright, but jumped on the expert and pulled a manual down the street, if felt that nice, the the jr T 170mm works well with the rear, i almost was gonna get the fuse for 3700 but can now get the bighit for cheaper, and ive always had specialized so i trust em.

from what i can tell they are exactly the same as the '03 just a spec change and a colour tweak..

kranked - how much did you pay for the expert, and where?

and how/why doesn't the comp ride as well as the expert?

thanks.. and also, i'd be really grateful if you could hook me up with some nice pics. even if it means you have to borrow your friends new $2342342 digicam :D

thanks again.

tell us in a bit more detail what you think of the bike. i really want to get one, i'm painfully saving every cent I find... :(

So... this is a "I've just decided on a bike, try to talk me out of it" thread eh? Even more useful than the "What ____ should I buy" threads ;)

$3850, excellent. *rubs hands in glee, mr. burns style*

I realise thats a one-off deal (supposedly) but what that tells me is that stores can easily sell them at 3850 and make profit as well. So I'm guessing (one day when i get the cash) i'll be able to get the price down to 4000 or less.

What shop?
you can tell me on msn if you cant say here. but you will tell me... lol :p

I bought a BigHit 04 Expert a week ago. I could not be happier, on the first day I could drop and jump bigger and better than I ever could on my 02 AC3. Techincal descents are a dream. Going up hill is a killer but the SPV thingy on the shock works better than I expected so it's not all bad.

You're also looking at just about every DH frame on the market ;)

I have an '03 specialized Big Hit DH - but built more like the expert/pro for freeriding. It is awesome bike. The rear end is extremely plush and responsive, and the drops feel like they aren't there. I'm also surprised how little it bobs for such a long travel bike - and climbs really well. It makes the roughest lines out a castle hill seem really smooth. The only downside is the weight - it seems a bit heavier than some of the other FR bikes out there, but at least you don't need to worry about the strength of the frame.

i got my expert yesterday, and it is a weapon, nuff said, downhilling is mad, u soak up every bump and it makes u wanna go faster and faster, jnr T's r plush as and my hayes work well but r still wearing in.

its a bit heavy to ride up hill but hte bob isnt to bad for 8 inches, when u have the shock positioned at point B.

everyone get one, these bikes are amazing
