As far as I know this was the first time Blackhill has been used for a major event in wet conditions. By the semi-finals it was obivious that the inside lines were the quickest so the track became who won the gate start won the race like most BMX races. The mud off the line slowed the riders if they took an overtaking line. Brett Barnes lost Masters men by not covering the inside line.

Track marshalls will also have to be looked at as at least three riders were hit from behind, one loosing their deralier, another having a bent disk. 4X is so free of rules I consider this a good thing, but taking riders out will have to stop.

have to agree, I don't mind a bit of "rubbin's racing" but on more than one occasion i've seen blatant take outs from riders with no chance of making a pass. This will be an issue that will raise it's head regulary as 4x becomes more popular, so we need to set the rules in stone NOW.

I think youll find it hard to enforce those rules like hitting from behind, just like bmx 99% of the time thats life, Especially if your gonna have tracks that cross lines, its gonna happen.

If you are going to police 4x then it basically has to be a very similar format to how BMX races are run. Lots of rules and you need lots of corner marshals, and you get held up by riders protesting.

4x on the other hand is largely unpoliced. There has been some rubbing in the racing which has sort of added to the specticle. And there have been a few intentional t-bones.

If I had my choice then the BMX rules would be the preference, but unfoturnately it requires manpower and it would be hard to get consistency.

I agree that dangerous take outs shouldnt be allowed but if 4x adopts bmx rules the line between the two sports becomes even more blured. I think that a bit af rubbing , pushing and line stealing is what makes a 4x race so much fun.

I cant understand where everyone gets the idea that you cant get away anything in bmx, take outs happen in almost every bmx race with no protests cause they arent allowed, its up to the corner marshall to protest but when it comes down to it they cant prove crap, they are only there to make sure no one cuts the track n they cant even do that properly.
So I cant figure out why anyone has the idea that 4X is so different bmx in the first place

I guess what im trying to say is that there needs to be some very clear differances between the two sports so that 4x dosnt just turn into 26inch bmx racing. Im not saying one is better than the other , just that they should be differant.

I thought that was the idea of having so many line options.

I think there is a need for a Marshall but not to be taken too far we might have to wear full face lids and cover all skin like BMX that is taking it way to far

Simple explenation first there was a thing called scramblers and scrambler racing later known as moto cross then some crazy kids on schwinn stingrays decided to imitate these cats on bicycles later to be called bmx bicycle moto cross .
Then some grown kids rode modded beach criusers through callie some where and we had mtn bikes.
So on with down hill basically a side event to the endurance race a long with hill climb.Later came slalom
Basically we copied sking .Now we have mtx 4x short course down hill what ever the f*$k you want to call it and all i here is lets make the two sports differant how?
Lets face it we all use wheels all ride dirt up hill down hill same shit
Instead of not trying to be like this or that we should look at why we have bmxers coming to mtn cross and mtbrs to bmx and accept we really have some world class mtxers come through the ranks in ALEX LLOYD-RYAN J-TERRY SCARR and others and our tracks are stepping up all the time and as more are appearing its time we take mtx as a seperate identity as it can never be down hill (multi lanes not timed)and not bmx (rougher surface smaller corners)
Let me also say to many rules suck this in my opinion is killing bmx and helping to make dirt jumping grow (somthing to maybe learn from)
But some we do need
AS IT IS RACING f#$k i wish i could spell
